1 Bed in Llandderfel (oc-t30475)
Perched on a hill at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, this rural stone-built cottage for two is surrounded by peaceful nature views. Close to the edge of the north-eastern edge of Snowdonia National Park, you can spend your time away exploring the lakes, quaint towns and mountains of this striking part of North Wales. Up to two dogs can join your adventure in this cosy and traditional cottage with wooden beamed ceilings, quirky antiques, and a garden with a fire pit.
Climb a few stone steps to reach the front door and step inside to find a welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a wooden floor and a beamed ceiling. The lounge area is decorated with beautiful characterful pieces, and has cottage-style windows and a Welsh dresser alongside a Smart TV. Continue past the hand-painted rocking horse and a characterful, working organ to reach a small dining table with two chairs. Beyond here is a narrow, L-shaped kitchen with multi-coloured tiles and plenty of surface space for cooking homemade meals. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom. At the top of the spiral staircase is a mezzanine level with a charming double bedroom. Outside is a covered veranda with furniture and a fire pit that can be used as a BBQ. There’s also private parking for two cars.
During your stay, you can try the three waymarked footpaths that pass through the surrounding grounds and walk along the winding River Dee (1 mile). Just 1 mile away is a local pub and for more dining options you can pop to the lakeside town of Bala (5.5 miles). Take a picnic to dog-friendly Aberhirnant National Forest (5 miles) or head to RSPB Centenary (11 miles) for bird watching. Penygader mountain is also 27 miles away.
