2 Bed in Lechlade (oc-77493)
The pretty hamlet of Kencot sits on the Gloucestershire/Oxfordshire border where the barn is truly rural and set within acres of mature farmland of which you are free to roam. There is easy access to the river Thames towpath, which takes in several tea rooms and inns along the way. The nearby RAF Brize Norton base offers a unique experience for anyone interested in planes, For plane enthusiasts there is an annual Air Tattoo show at RAF Fairford. The picturesque villages and towns of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold are all within easy reach and boast a tempting selection of cafes, restaurants independent shops and galleries. Other nearby attractions include Tetbury, Cheltenham, Oxford and The Cotswold Wildlife Park.
Drive into the countryside and across the cornfields where you will arrive at the barn, set within acres of farmland, the barn is off-grid taking its energy from a generator and wind turbine. Step inside where you will be pleasantly surprised by the eclectic style that the owner has taken time to create. The entrance hall has ample space for coats and boots and wiping off muddy paws, offering access to a utility room with a shower room with shower and WC. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is nice and spacious with the dining area set within the heart of the barn conversion and enjoys views across the farmland. The open lounge enjoys the warmth of a wood burner along with a TV. The kitchen, finished with bespoke cabinets and wooden work tops is well-equipped with electric range oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. For relaxing and enjoying a good book why not put your feet up in the snug, a room designed for book worms, with bookcases brimming with good reads and a TV. When the day is done climb the wooden stairs up to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms. A king-size room with exposed beams and en-suite bathroom with claw foot bath and WC, and another king-size room with exposed beams and countryside views, plus an additional day bed suitable for a child. There is a shower room with shower and WC also on the first-floor landing.
Open the doors onto the gravelled patio area, a great place for summer dining with table and chairs. The gardens are enclosed with post and rail fencing along with ample parking.
