The centre of Brecon is less than half a mile away and is peppered with artisan coffee shops, Georgian architecture and indie book shops. Speaking of bookshops, the ‘Town of Books’, Hay-on-Wye, is 16 miles away and is a must-see for any storybook devotee. For keen walkers, Pen-y-Crug (1 mile) offers epic views from an Iron Age hillfort, while Cefn Llechid (8 miles) has peaceful trails and wild ponies. Those seeking views at a more leisurely pace may like to experience Brecon Mountain Railway (20 miles). If you’re wishing to drink in mountain views while you putt, then Cradoc Golf Club (2.5 miles) is an epic choice for seasoned golfers.
