Enjoying a wonderful countryside spot on the outskirts of the quiet village of Gilsland, this quaint country cottage offers the ideal spot for couples and families to escape everyday life and explore the beautiful scenery of Cumbria and Northumberland. This area is a playground for keen outdoor explorers, with a myriad of tracks and trails to enjoy on foot or two wheels beginning from the doorstep. Positioned right where the tree line of Kielder Forest meets the rolling hills of Cumbria, light pollution is almost nonâexistent. Step outside on a clear evening and youâll be greeted by an astonishing canopy of starsâMilky Way arcs, shooting stars, and constellations dancing overhead. Youâre literally on the doorstep of one of Europeâs largest Dark Sky Parks. Situated on Hadrianâs Wall on the border between Cumbria and Northumberland, the sleepy village of Gilsland, 2 miles away, offers some wonderful walks around the village and through its breathtaking scenery. Head to the pretty market town of Brampton, 10.5 miles away, or Haltwhistle which is the geographical centre of Britain, 7.5 miles away for a fabulous selection of independent shops, cafĂ©s and restaurants before exploring the surrounding footpaths and bridleways that weave through woods, fields and moorlands.
Boasting a wonderfully high ceiling and gorgeous exposed beams, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner that welcomes you into the heart of this home-from-home retains the rich heritage of the cottage amongst sumptuous contemporary touches that set the scene for pure relaxation. The stylish design of the kitchen will inspire you to get creative with your local produce, whilst the cosy lounge area provides the perfect spot to unwind weary walking muscles with underfloor heating to keep you cosy no matter the weather.
