You’re literally on the doorstep of one of Europe’s largest Dark Sky Parks. Situated on Hadrian’s Wall on the border between Cumbria and Northumberland, the sleepy village of Gilsland, 2 miles away, offers some wonderful walks around the village and through its breathtaking scenery. Head to the pretty market town of Brampton, 10.5 miles away, or Haltwhistle which is the geographical centre of Britain, 7.5 miles away for a fabulous selection of independent shops, cafés and restaurants before exploring the surrounding footpaths and bridleways that weave through woods, fields and moorlands.
