Dronfield is situated between the Peak District National Park and the city of Sheffield while close by is the historic town of Chesterfield which is most notable for its famous crooked spire of St Mary and All Saints Church. The impressive Damflask, Agden, Dale Dike and Ladybower dams make for an interesting afternoon's ramble, while the attractive village of Hathersage (thought to be the inspiration for Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre) is also within easy reach and is home to a selection of shops, pubs and inviting eateries, plus an outdoor lido. There are many stately homes to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, whilst the historic and ever popular town of Bakewell and the rest of the Peak District, are within a short drive.
