Lovingly refurbished period cottage in the heart of picturesque Welwyn village ideal for stays whether in the area for business or leisure. It's just a stone's throw from great restaurants, award winning pubs, cafes, bakeries, grocery, boutiques and other amenities as well as country walks.
The cottage is a self-contained, sem-detached property with fully fitted kitchen along with all the comforts of today including WiFi, flat screen smart TV, multiple USB ports, washing machine and dryer, iron and ironing board.
The furnishings are carefully sourced unique pieces and the decor is inspired by the Scandinavian Gustavian period and the 18th century origin of the cottage.
The cottage comprises 2 bedrooms, one master with a king size bed and sumptuous bedding and bespoke furnishings plus a single bedrooms suited for an adult or child with dedicated workspace in the shape of an antique student's desk.
The charmingly furnished living room with 42 inch smart TV, electric logburner, reading nook and sofa also has an antique secretary desk as another workspace.
The kitchen is fully fitted with butler sink, toaster, oven, induction hob, tea and coffee making facilities as well as vintage Portmeirion china. There is also a bijoux eating area with a table that can be moved out to seat 4.
The utility attached to the kitchen comes with washing machine, dryer, vacuum, iron and iron board and leads to the small outside space with table and chairs.
This area is also shared as an access for the neighbours and their little girl's pram.
The cottage is also pet-friendly and I love to welcome canine guests with some custom treats and a blanket, towel and doggie shampoo are provided in the case of those wet autumnal or wintery walks.
The village itself is picturesque with the Mimram river running through it and more great restaurants and pubs than days in a week so you'll be spoilt for choice!
The village is also the home of a statue of Vincent Van Gogh who walked all the way from London to visit his sister who resided here!
A great place to walk is to visit the Danesbury Fernery, Singlers's Marsh or the Digswell Viaduct. Also not far are Knebworth House, Tewinbury Farm, Hitchin Lavender Fields and Tulleys Tulip Fields.
My tip for a great Sunday roast? Hands down the White Hart coaching inn opposite but booking is advised as it's very popular! They also host a great monthly supper club with a different country and culinary theme along with carefully matched vines. I can't recommend it highly enough!
