This elegant home comfortably accommodates families or groups, sleeping up to 7 guests across 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Recently styled and renovated, the home exudes a luxurious feel and has been thoughtfully designed for comfort. There are two lounge areas throughout the house, each offering cosy nooks to unwind or gather for group chats in the open-plan kitchen/living area that extends to the outdoor garden area.

Sanctuary House forms part of what was once a striking double-fronted home. It now stands as a fully restored residence with its private garden and is directly opposite the iconic St Mary’s de Haura – a Grade I-listed parish church that has served the community for over 900 years. Whether you’re visiting for work, a relaxing retreat, or a celebratory stay, this home is designed with comfort and space in mind.

KITCHEN / LIVING AREA
The fully equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances, washing machine, dishwasher and double fridge/freezer and loads of storage, an oven, kettle, plus plenty of cookware, glassware, crockery and cutlery so you can easily cook up a brunch or lunch for everybody. In addition to this, we offer complimentary tea and coffee, salt and pepper - so please help yourself. The open plan area includes a dining table that seats up to 6 guests.

BEDROOMS
There are four bedrooms with a mix of sleeping arrangements to suit your needs. Plenty of fresh bed linen is provided for all beds. Travel Cot and High Chair are available for hire.

Two lounge areas offer convenience and comfort with comfortable sofas to relax and unwind.

PATIO/OUTDOOR GARDEN
Located outside the kitchen/living area, the outdoor area is perfect for unwinding with garden furniture, perfect for morning coffees or evening drinks

PARKING
There is space for 1 car to park on the driveway, and free on-street parking is available for additional cars.

Careful attention has been given to restoring and preserving the original Victorian character, resulting in a warm and elegant space that beautifully combines heritage charm with contemporary style. A one-of-a-kind stay in the heart of Shoreham.

House Rules – Making Your Stay (and Everyone Else’s) Enjoyable

We want you to have a brilliant stay with us! To help make that happen – and out of respect for our neighbours and the property – we kindly ask that you follow these simple house rules:

Smoking
Smoking or vaping isn't allowed on the property. If you’d like to smoke, please go out onto the street and kindly dispose of cigarette ends or related debris responsibly.

Noise
To keep things peaceful for our neighbours, please keep noise to a minimum between 10 pm and 8 am. That means no loud music or parties during these hours.
We’re not the anti-fun police – we want you to have a great time – we just ask for a bit of consideration so everyone can enjoy their evening (and a good night’s sleep!).
Please note: If there’s a call-out due to excessive noise, the cost will be deducted from your deposit.

Not pet-friendly.

Check-Out Time
Check-out is by 11 am. Kindly leave on time so we can get everything ready for the next guests. Late check-outs may incur a £50 per hour fee.

Before You Leave
Before heading off, we’d appreciate it if you could:

Do any washing up
Bag up your rubbish and place it in the appropriate bins
Return keys to the key safe
Switch off all lights
Make sure all windows are closed
Turn down the heating (especially during the winter months)
House Care & Safety

Sisal carpets: Kindly refrain from soft drinks in the bedrooms. Sisal carpet stains easily. Bottled water with a lid is advised bedside.
Wet rooms: Avoid covering drains with towels, flannels, or sponges – this can cause flooding and damage to rooms below. Always supervise children while bathing or showering.
Cleaning: Please do not scrub any surfaces. Use Ecover and Zoflora products only. Never use oils, waxes, or furniture polish on wooden surfaces. Bleach or mild solution may be used in bathrooms and toilets.
Please dispose of all sanitary products in the dustbins provided – never flush them.
Use kitchen bins for coffee grounds – do not pour them into the sink.
Lock both front and rear doors, as well as the car park gate, when leaving.
Decorative items: Please be respectful and enjoy them from a distance.
The washing machine is available for your use – please use it responsibly.
Our laundry service handles all bedding and towels. If you have questions, contact the numbers provided.
Keys & Parking

Carpark access fobs and house keys will be charged at emergency replacement rates if lost.
Only use the one parking space allocated at the rear of the house, where an EV charger is also located. Please be respectful of our neighbours.
Not only does this help us prepare for the next guests, but it also helps us do our bit for the environment by saving energy and reducing waste. Every little bit counts – thank you!

Age Policy
The lead guest must be 21 or over. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept bookings from groups where the majority of guests are under this age. If you’re unsure, just get in touch before booking.

A Quick Note on Deposits
If house rules are not followed, deductions may be made from your deposit to cover additional cleaning or damages. We hope that’s never necessary!
