Littleham is a haven for keen outdoor explorers, home to plenty of scenic country lanes carving through the rugged North Devon countryside, waiting to be explored on foot or two wheels. The quaint estuary town of Bideford can be reached within 3 miles and offers a range of independent shops, cafes and restaurants that showcase some of this area’s best local produce. Enjoy a traditional bucket and spade day at the seaside at Westward Ho!, 5 miles away, which boasts 2 miles of golden sand, a unique pebble ridge, perfect surfing conditions and direct access to the idyllic South West Coast Path.
The traditional stone exterior perfectly mirrors the wonderfully rustic ambience that awaits throughout this period cottage. Kick off your walking shoes in the entrance porch before following the warmth of the quaint wood burner into the cosy lounge brimming with original features, including exposed brickwork and beautiful beams, that set the scene for pure relaxation. Showcasing more gorgeous, exposed brickwork and flagstone flooring reminiscent of days gone by, the dining room, home to another roaring wood burner, offers the perfect peaceful spot to plan tomorrow’s adventure. At the heart of this home-from-home, the country cottage-style kitchen will capture your imagination, inspiring you to whip up something delicious with new local flavours. You’ll also find a handy utility room and wet room on this level. Sharing the same charm and character as the ground floor, the five bedrooms upstairs provide a haven of tranquillity to retire to at the end of a busy day’s adventure; there is a king-size with en-suite, a super king-size, a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request), a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. The family bathroom on this level is perfect for freshening up after a long day on the local trails.
Outside, the large, enclosed lawned garden is perfectly positioned for guests to soak up lovely countryside views from the comfort of the hot tub, as well as providing the ideal spot for children to let off some steam before bedtime. If you’ve still got plenty of energy left, head into the games barn to enjoy table tennis or relax upstairs in the former potato store, taking in the views over the garden. There is private parking for five cars.
