Casa Faustina - Vacation home with amazing view
A beautiful rustic country house (90 sq.m.) with an incredible view, ideal for families or small groups of friends who want to spend a tranquil holiday, enjoying nature and their own private access to the sea. The house has three bedrooms, a living/dining room, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. A large terrace with an outdoor dining area overlooks the Gulf of Evia, and a stone footpath leads down to a sun deck on the rocky shore, where one can enjoy a private swim in crystal waters.
The house is 90 sq.m. and is situated on a 3.000 sq.m. property, that overlooks the Gulf of Evia and slopes down to the sea. Part of the property is dense woodland and the shore is rocky. The scenery is wild and beautiful, totally characteristic of the Greek countryside.
This is our home in the countryside. We have built it slowly with a lot of love, and we continually come up with new projects to improve it.
The house has three bedrooms, a living/dining room, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. You'll find all you need for a relaxing stay, including a selection of books in Greek and English (and some also in French, German and Italian), an HDTV and a sound system.
The view from the large terrace is breathtaking. You can choose to have your meals there, enjoy a drink, do some reading, or work on your computer, all the while taking in the amazing scenery and the glorious sunsets. If you are an early riser, you can enjoy the sunrise, as the small fishing boats go out across the bay for the day's catch. If you are lucky, you may see dolphins jumping. There's also a seal, her nest is a bit further out the bay from our house. But you have to be really lucky to see her, she is a bit of recluse.
Taking the stone path down to the sea, you will find yourself on a small, stone deck, with an umbrella and chairs. You can take a swim here in crystal clear waters, totally alone, away from the hustle and bustle of busy tourist spots.
At any time, however, you can walk the short distance (600 m.) to the scenic village of Ilia. Ilia is a fishing village, bustling with life in the summer months, with a beautiful beach and its very own thermal spring.
Ilia has a lovely, long beach which boasts its very own thermal spring. Great for swimming, or taking a nice stroll in the evening to the small fishing harbour.
Most of the shops in Ilia remain closed in the winter, but in the summer it is full of great cafes and taverns, offering fresh produce, fish and seafood, local meat, and traditional dishes. Other options, like pizza, pasta or burgers are also available, and usually very nicely done.
If you are into hiking, North Evia offers many options, but very close to the house (about 500 m.) you can pick up the trail to Dafnokouki Waterfalls, a place of fantastic natural beauty.
The closest town is Aidipsos (about 8km), a resort famous since antiquity for its thermal springs. There are natural thermal pools by the beach, and also a number of indoor spas that offer a variety of treatments and packages. There are also restaurants, taverns and cafes, an outdoor cinema, and a small funfair for children.
The wider area of North Evia is one of the most beautiful places in Greece. If you are up to a bit of a drive to explore, there are fantastic beaches and stunning mountain villages to discover. We'll be happy to offer detailed suggestions when you are planning your visit.
Although most people think of Greece as a summer holiday destination, our area is beautiful in the autumn and winter, too. Relaxing on the terrace while watching the clouds gather over the sea, or listening to music, or reading by the fireplace, can be part of a more unusual, but no less decompressing, break. If peace and quiet is what you are looking for, consider an autumn or winter stay with us.
