We had a wonderful week at Villa Maria Pia. Temperatures were around 34C all week, so the air conditioning, hot tub on our balcony, and fantastic swimming pool were absolute lifesavers after long, hot days exploring Rome.The apartment is beautifully maintained and has everything you need, although with weather like ours you'll probably spend most of your time outside. The balcony, comfortable sun loungers, and shaded gazebo make it the perfect place to relax. The pool area also has excellent shower and changing facilities, and the views over the surrounding countryside are stunning. The peaceful atmosphere, with birdsong and crickets, made it even more special.Although the villa is close to the airport flight path, we barely noticed the planes.Our hosts were exceptional, going above and beyond to help with transport and recommend great places to eat.One tip: hire a car. We usually walk everywhere, so we didn't rent one, but the 2 km walk into town is challenging in the summer heat, and Uber wasn't always easy to get.A special mention goes to the family's lovely old dog, who quietly wanders the property and is friendly without ever being intrusive.Overall, we highly recommend Villa Maria Pia. With spacious bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and living area, a large shower room, balcony, hot tub, and beautiful pool, it has everything a family of four needs for a relaxing holiday.
