After a day of adventure, return to the comfort of The Coach House and unwind with complimentary prosecco in front of a roaring open fire, or soak up the sunshine in the walled garden.
The cottage has been thoughtfully renovated to provide a full cosy cottage experience with modern comforts. The well-equipped kitchen features an electric range with ovens and five hobs, microwave, full-sized fridge and freezer, and all the cookware and utensils you need. Thereâs also a washing machine and drying rack for your convenience. The dining table seats four comfortably, and extends to seat six guests using the wooden bench.
In the living room, enjoy a wood burner with supplied logs and kindling, a large flat-screen TV with Freeview and streaming access, and a selection of board games and puzzles. The corner sofa converts into a sofa bed for extra guestsâplease let us know if you need additional bedding. Upstairs, the bedrooms offer a double bed in one room and two singles in the other, with ample storage, touch-dimmable lamps, alarm clocks, and charging points. Both rooms are equipped with hairdryers and straighteners, and one features a selection of books for all ages. The modern bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet.
Parking is available on the gravel drive for a small car, with alternative parking on the main road just a minuteâs walk away for larger vehicles.
Nestled on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, The Coach House is the perfect retreat for those seeking both adventure and tranquillity in one of Englandâs most captivating landscapes. We've enjoyed hosting guests in our beautiful cottage for 3 years now, and love hearing about their experiences. We chose this location because it's so close to stunning walks across Dartmoor, and with a pub 5 minutes walk away it's the perfect place to relax.

The Coach House is full of character yet with all you need for comfortable modern living. The village located on the old A30 road offers two pubs, a shop and a café. Bus stops nearby provide good if infrequent links to Okehampton and nearby villages enabling days out by bus and hike home. Good onward road and rail connections are available at Okehampton. High Dartmoor beckons from your doorstep.
Guest review (1 February 2025)
A charming property full of history and character, yet tastefully and comfortably incorporating all mod-cons. Splendid in rural remoteness, yet all you need is just around the corner, bus stop, two very different pubs, cafe and shop. Well placed for High Dartmoor hiking, yet the bright lights of Okie just a short distance away.
