nature and caves:
- Rakov Škocjan is a Karst natural park with natural bridges and chasms that take you straight to the scene from the movie Lord of the Rings. Untouched nature instantly captivates, especially since it
has not yet been discovered by crowds of tourists. From our farm, you can reach Rakov Škocjan in just a 30 minutes long hike;
- Lake Cerknica is the largest intermittent lake, a unique natural phenomenon and is reachable in 10 minutes by car from Rakek. There you can swim, fish or rent a kayak. In the Gornje jezero village, you can discover the countless springs of Lake Cerknica alongside a circular path. A few kilometers away, the charming Križna jama awaits you, where you can take a boat ride inside the cave. Above the lake Cerknica there is the mountain Slivnica, the home of the witches who cook the weather of Notranjska. From there, there is a wonderful view of Lake Cerknica and the surrounding areas, all the way to Nanos mountain. They have a local restaurant, and you can climb it on foot or by car.
- A 10 minute car ride also takes you to the famous Postojna Cave with Predjama Castle, or you can drive closely to the Planinsko polje with the ruins of Hasberg Castle and Škratovka, a mysterious village for the youngest travelers. Take a walk across Planinsko polje with Ravbar tower, see Planinska jama and admire flowers that grow only in this part of the world.
- You can reach the Slovenian coast in 40 minutes, as well as the capital city Ljubljana. At every step, you are accompanied by clean, pristine water from seven streams that merge as the Ljubljanica river;
- Cuisine of Notranjska is extremely tempting, from bujta repa to štruklji and žganci.
