Riego is located 80 km from Santander, 100 km from Gijón, 115 km from Oviedo and 170 km from Bilbao, and 11 km from the border with Cantabria.

In this charming town, located between the sea and the mountains, we can enjoy beautiful walks between Asturian mansions and palaces, the Church of Santa María de la Paz, from the end of the 19th century, several restaurants, its magnificent beaches or visit the cliffs and blowholes of Arenillas. It is also worth visiting Buelna or the neighbouring Colombres, an exemplary town where the Archive of Indianos is located, and contemplate the beautiful Indian mansions built by the neighbours who made their fortune in America.

And behind the sea, the Picos de Europa. Just 40 minutes from Cangas de Onís, the former capital of Spain from where the Reconquista began, or 50 minutes from Covadonga, with its majestic lakes and its Sanctuary. I also recommend a trip on the narrow-gauge railway that runs along the Cantabrian coast. And cross to neighbouring Cantabria to visit its beautiful villages: San Vicente de la Barquera, Comillas, Santillana del Mar. Potes... Go up the cable car in Fuente Dé, or visit the Cabárceno park.
