We were honored to be able to stay at Casa Nene for several months and have Davide and Martina as our fabulous hosts. In the middle of La Vucciria Historic District, the neighborhood has a vibrant atmosphere with incredible street food, lively nightlife, regular events, and authentic Sicilian charm. The local people are over-the-top sweet and very helpful. The apartment has plenty of room with a fully equipped kitchen and living area. The location is one of the best, with quick walking access to all of the major historic sites, Central Train Terminal (10 Min), as well as a major grocery Familia Superstore (5 min). Just about everything you will want to tour is a 5-15 minute walk: To name a few the Opera House Massimo, Politeama, Palermo Cathedral, Pasquale Puppet Museum (don't miss this show), Quattro Canti (Piazza Vigliena), Catacombs, Palermo Norman Palace, Botanical Gardens, Ballero Street Market (the oldest and biggest), many Museums (Archaeological) and 5 minutes to the Port of Palermo for waterfront restaurants, scenic walk, and water activities. The Piazza Marina (5 min) hosts a pop-up street market every Sunday, featuring local goods, antiques, clothes, and collectibles, etc. We loved it and were lucky to have found this place. We definitely recommend it and will surely stay again.
