Read the listing carefully !!!!!!

We ultimately didn’t even check into the property, and ended up going to a nearby hotel instead. I didn’t cancel the reservation at the property as I’d not receive any refund anyways - and at least I could write a review. Ultimately, this was the first listing that has ever required the information this host wants. Full names of all guest, to include my minor children? An unaltered Copy of my license. I did not feel comfortable giving him all of this information, informed both him and VRBO that it was against VBRO policy to communicate outside of the secure platform. Ended up sending some variation of the information (accurate or not I won’t say). On top of that, host wants to meet you in person at check-in (also never encountered that). Says all hotels required a license and that is why the IRS requires. But I’ve never given a hotel my license either, so it added to the shadiness. Host tries to make you feel comfortable sending all of this by boasting about his “Q Level Clearance with the Department of Energy” and some story about how he got a fee from the IRS for not collecting licenses. But we felt just through email communication and the one phone call that VBRO put us on together like this situation was bad all around. I had asked to cancel the reservation and get refunded due to not wanting to provide my ID - but naturally that wasn’t allowed bc it was in the posting. So my advice - read the posting carefully. All the way to end.

The House matched the photos. Quiet neighborhood, easy to find. We were only there to shower and sleep so the price was great for what we needed.

Overall the home was in a perfectly clean state. The only issue we ran into was every bed besides the master was hard as a rock with barely any cushion around a box of springs.

Nice place to stay

The house was clean when we arrived. It was a great price and location. I think the only thing we would have liked would be a few of the things you dont usually pack, such as laundry soap and more toilet paper. Otherwise it was nice being in a home rather than a hotel. The owner is very nice and had great communication.

Quiet Retreat

We were in town from PA moving our daughter back to college. We were in a bind being that all of our local kennels were booked and we needed to bring our dogs with us. This house was a gem to find. A little further out of the city than we would have liked (about 15 minutes), but an easy commute. The house was quiet, which kept the dogs calm; quite roomy, so there was plenty of space to put their crates without being in the way; and most importantly, CLEAN! And as a bonus, there was a wonderful fenced-in yard. The host was very nice and responsive whenever we needed him. We would definitely stay here again.

Worst Experience Ever For Vacation Rental Home

This was the worst experience for a vacation rental I have ever experienced. I have been renting vacation homes for a long time with different companies. The lack of communication with the owner to get combination for lockbox did not exist. I sent a message via VRBO, as well as telephoned him, on the morning of departure. He did not call me back until 1:00 P.M, and his response is that he had up to 4:00 P.M. to respond to me. My wife finally got him to allow us in at 3:00 P.M. and was told the key was under the front door mat. I was not allow to get the combination because it was used for emergencies or for the housekeeper(how inconvenient with friends==> had to hide the key outside so other people could use). The lawn was not cut(up to my ankle or higher), A lot of light bulbs was not in place, numerous dump trucks passing in front of the house all day since the end of the street was a entrance to sandpit company, the driveway was a steep angle and four inch difference between driveway surface and ground in some area(very dangerous). He then sends emails concerning stipulations about stay a hour before 4;00 P.M. that should have been on his house webpage. I also had to dispose of the garbage before leaving. even though I paid a cleaning fee. I could have been charged extra money for arriving early or leaving late(outrageous fee). I will never stay at this place ever again. What a disappointment.

This property worked very well for our stay to see our son-in-law graduate from Army Basic Training. The house was only 20 minutes from Ft. Jackson and easy to get to everything we needed.

Will not stay here again

The property was not bad, however the cleanliness was sub par. The entrance floor looked like it had never been mopped, the bathroom in the hallway looked to be quickly wiped down, but lots of soap scum was left in the shower. All the carpets had stains which left me feeling uneasy, the vacuum in the laundry room was left with a full canister if dirt and hair, again leaving me uneasy. My niece had a roach crawling on her blanket when she went to go to bed, another one was in the hallways, and my nephew found one crawling in the master bedroom bathroom. Definitely a rough stay. Not to mention I had 2 more people join me due to an emergency and trying to get ahold of the property manager was a whole other ordeal. I had to try to book the same property for different dates just to be able to get thru to him while I was just trying to be respectful and let him know I had extra people.

Great place

Excellent place. Only improvement would be adding a television to the bedrooms. It was a little cold inside when the outside temp was in the 20s. Just turn up the heat during the day to handle the cold nights.

Not what we expected from the other reviews

I was shocked that the reviews are as good as they are for this property. Everything is very dated. Furniture needs upgraded something terrible. Not a comfortable piece in the place. Kitchen chairs loose and had to sit carefully so not to break them. Sofa sinks down very low when sat on. Beds were so so...not very comfy either...Property may be a vacation home for owner but he definately doesnt live here. That is obvious when you walk in and through the home. And the big reason I wont return are the cockroaches. I understand that when you have people you dont know rent out a place you will get these issues. But the sprays he has on premises wont work if not done regularly. The bugs are healthy and very fast. He needs to have a regular exterminator to rid the issue. The issue seemed to be confined to the kitchen from what we noticed. We were going to prepare food there but decided to just eat out instead. Sorry we sprayed the cockroaches and left them lay on the counter. I refuse to have to clean up those things. We decided it was easier just to stay rather than fight for a refund and go elsewhere. We had an extremely long drive and needed rest. We were there for Fort Jackson Graduatio and were gone most of the day anyway.
