A comfy place
We arrived late but that was ok as there was a key lock system to access the keys. On booking it was less clear that this was a 2nd floor flat but it was ok. The flat was a little cold when we got in - and one of the windows locks at the back was broke - I contacted the property people and they sent around a handy man to fix that (which they did) and also to add a valve to the living room radiator (which they did but it did not work) - the bedrooms were warm though. The front rooms have better decor - but are a bit noisier being opposite the pub and drivers at night can go a little quick but it was ok. The boiler was set to off and the thermostat would not make a difference - you had to set the little switch to the '1' position on the boiler and it all worked then. The oven and gas stove were excellent - and the dishwasher made life easier - the washer dryer was a little slow - about 7-8 hours to wash and dry so factor that in if you are going to use it. The parking was fine very nearby but not next to the property - the village was very quiet and had a nice vibe - the roads to the property from Glasgow were narrow and people who were familiar with them drove fast - so just take your time and ignore them - do what is safe. Balmaha is really close giving access to the walk, boat trip (paid for) and Conic hill (the car park you pay for but it's reasonable). The family enjoyed it and it was good value - there are three flats - we were the only ones in at the time.
