We often get asked whether car hire is necessary so it is interesting that you found you didn't need your car to get around in Bol, due to the convenient location of the apartment. The land train is a great option for getting to Zlatni Rat beach, as is the taxi boat. We also enjoy the walk along the shady promenade.

We're so happy you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the well-equipped kitchen which is designed to be a home from home. We find the location is perfect for us as it is peacefully situated but still within easy reach of everywhere we enjoy. We hope to welcome you back in future.

Another great review, especially for Barry, our wonderful apartment manager. We are also lucky to have Barry's wife, Leslie, who cleans the apartment and prepares it for the arrival of our guests. Mlin is another one of our favourite restaurants, especially in the warm summer evenings when you can sit outside on the garden terrace to enjoy your meal.

Goran will always try to greet our guests but he occasionally gets called away, being a firefighter and restaurateur. All of our guests have his contact details, as well as ours, and we are always happy to recommend restaurants etc. There are some menus/flyers etc on the table in the apartment and there's a big choice of restaurants to suit everyone's needs. Feedback from guests is that most love the option of sitting on the front terrace, enjoying the sea views but there's also the views over the vineyards, olive groves towards the mountains, if preferred. Bol does enjoy warmer temperatures in July and August but there are very regular water taxis and a land train that take you direct to Zlatni Rat beach if you prefer this over the shaded walk along the promenade. Alternatively, there are closer beaches within walking distance. There is also a tourist information office in the harbour area if guests need additional information....as timetables for ferries etc change, it is recommended to check the links online, which we send to our guests by email.

Hi Sian. Thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Until recently, the Croatian economy has very much been cash based and it's only in the last few years that most restaurants have taken cards. I think you're right in that generally you get a better rate for cash than on a card. It's a shame that the local bank closed last year, albeit there is one at Split Airport or in Supetar and we usually visit these on arrival. Alternatively there are a number of currency exchange offices or ATMs in Bol if guests need to obtain local currency.

We are so happy that you loved the apartment and enjoyed the outdoor space by the pool and on the front terrace, enjoying the sea views. We also love spending time watching the swifts flying over! It sounds like you made the most of your days and going to the beaches later in the day when it’s less busy is just what the locals do too. We’re looking forward to visiting Beer and More which only opened a month ago but is already very popular I believe. Stina Winery is always high on our list for a visit….great for people watching! Thanks for your lovely review. It's great that you saw it as a home from home...that was certainly our intention as we enjoy spending time there ourselves. Even in winter when Bol is quiet it's great to feel you have your home comforts around you. There are slightly longer, less steep routes from the centre but we always see it as an opportunity to walk off the food and drink we've enjoyed in the local bars and restaurants! Hopefully we will welcome you back in future.

We really appreciate having our own pool and it's been a hit with all of our guests, especially on those lazy days when you just want to relax and enjoy the environment. In our opinion the views inland are equal to the sea views. We are also very lucky to have Martina and Franky keeping the apartment spotless and pool so well maintained.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you had a restful break and found everything easily accessible within Bol. Whilst there are a number of different short routes back to the apartment from the centre there are always taxis (or a land train in main season) for those who prefer this option. We usually stop off at the bakery or small supermarket on the walk back or stop near the top to look for the red backed shrike that is often seen in the trees opposite. The crystal clear water makes it great for snorkelling. Sailing is another popular pastime for visitors. We hope you will visit us again in future.

Thanks for your lovely review. We're glad you had a good time after being let down on your other property. Goran is very knowledgeable about things to do in Bol, having lived there all his life. We are regulars at Dolphin Dive School but there are a couple of places to choose from. The island is very popular with mountain bikers and is also growing in popularity as a walking destination with tracks right behind the apartment. There is a trail going all the way up to Vidova Gora, the highest point on the island and this is something that is great to do if you are visiting outside of the main season when temperatures are cooler. Hi Ian Thanks for the great feedback and review. We probably need to update the photographs and that is on the 'to do' list for our forthcoming trip. June is often a great time to visit just as everything is fully open for the main season. We love the convenience which makes everywhere easily accessible to us, and means car hire is not required for getting about in Bol. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the future.
