Spacious apartment near Marble Arch
The apartment was a little hard to find at first. It was spacious, and about a 5-minute walk to the Marble Arch station. We didn't enjoy the street it was on. The windows didn't seem fully closed because we could hear quite a bit of noise from the street and even had lots of smoke odor entering some of the windows.We were grateful to have plenty of room, but hoped that the apartment would be cleaner overall. It looks like it's been recently updated, which was nice, but the rest of the building, particularly the lobby and elevator areas, smell and are a bit rundown.We had two instances while we were there that we weren't prepared for, and that should've happened not while we stayed there, when supposed work on windows and doors throughout the apartment and building were going to take place. We weren't contacted ahead of time by the host and two men knocked on the door wanting to come in to do work, so we had to try to get a hold of him to get more information. Another time we received a call saying work on windows might be done while we were there.Communication through the app would have been better than phone calls, and having any kind of maintenance work done, unless it's an emergency, should happen outside of a guest's stay. We also would've appreciated easier check-in. We had to meet someone to get the key.
