Nestled among towering pine and oak trees, this stunning mountain retreat offers breathtaking views of the surrounding range through a wall of windows — providing an unobstructed panorama of nature’s beauty.

With over 4,000 sq. ft. of living space, there’s room for everyone to relax and unwind. Enjoy movie nights in the dedicated theater, challenge friends in the game room, or simply lounge by the wet bar.

Families with children will love the kids’ room featuring three bunk beds, perfect for sleepovers and laughter-filled nights. After a day of adventure, unwind in the hot tub, fire up the grill, or gather around one of two firepits for cozy evenings under the stars.

The first firepit, located under a covered gazebo, can be enjoyed rain or shine. For a truly scenic experience, take a short 100-ft hike uphill to the second firepit, where you can share stories and create lifelong memories surrounded by mountain views.

Just 5 minutes away, Strouds Run State Park offers endless outdoor activities — boating, swimming, fishing, or hiking along its beautiful 10-mile lakeview trail.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The kitchen is fully stocked, the beds are comfortable and the house has so much space. We enjoyed the beauty of our surroundings, especially the night sky while relaxing in the hot tub. The host provided clear information for check in and check out procedures. Would definitely stay at the rental again!

Nine of us OU alumni stayed in this house for our first reunion in Athens in about 20 years, and it was perfect. Beautiful house, spacious bedrooms and common areas, plenty of seating, excellent air conditioning, and a nice sense of seclusion just a short drive from uptown Athens. Tip for future visitors, not every restaurant will deliver there. But Avalanche Pizza will, and that’s really all you need isn’t it?

My friends and I got together for our fantasy football draft at this cabin. We do this trip every year and move around to different locations all over Ohio. After this weekend, the whole group was discussing making this place a permanent fixture every year moving forward! It was a wonderful experience in a large cabin with a ton of living space. There was room for people to be on their own schedules, spend time watching movies or outdoors. The location is great with a short drive down to Athens for breakfast or cooking supplies as well as parks/trails just around the corner. Fire pit is very cool and we wish we had used it more over the course of the weekend. Drana is great and very responsive. We were low on some house supplies and she insta-carted them over instantly! Great host experience. We did feel that the internet was not able to keep up with the demand at times. It was very spotty throughout the weekend for most of us, so might not be the best location for serious gamers. We were a little stressed with buffering during some football games, but everything worked out. I liked the chance to put my phone down at times and focus on the nature and company. Overall, a 5 star place and we cannot wait to go back!

Big family friendly

Great stay for a big family! Plenty of room to spread out. Dining room was perfect for board games. The pool table and movie room were great ‘getaways’ for the kids without disturbing others upstairs. The lake is only a few minutes away and we loved the kayaking and beach. We will be back

Great location

This was our second stay in this house with our group of friends and we had such a wonderful time, yet again! The new movie room was great for the kiddos and the hot tub was so relaxing. There is a lot to explore on the property itself, and we also drove a few miles down the road to Strouds run beach to do some exploring as well. Definitely recommend this house if your looking for a group get away!

Hill House

This lovely house met all our needs. We ranged in age from 40 to 90. Easy access for 90-year-old, she even made it to the fire circle up the hill with assistance. Appreciated the walk-in showers. Kitchen was very well equipped including a spice rack. Easy access to state park and town for supplies. We enjoyed hiking on the old logging road. Fall colors were gorgeous from front porch. We are likely to return.

Exceptional rental

This is an exceptional rental. We rented over the Christmas holiday for a family get together. We could not have been more pleased with the property and the hosts. We have a daughter that lives in Athens and every year we try to have a family get together for the Christmas holidays. In the past the Athens rentals that would fulfill our needs have been limited in availability as well as size to fit our family 6 adults and four grandchildren. Manyntimes we default to a hotel or settle on Logan (hocking hill) . Luckily I found this gem in October. The house is modern, has ample space, bedrooms and baths and a spacious family room. The kitchen is just the right size and well laced out. All the appliances worked well. In additional the owners recently added a home theater room in the basement ( although I never figured out how to work the home theater control, this was quickly resolved with the help of two ten year olds) besides the multiple bedrooms, There is a bunk bed room where my four grandchildren sleep (they enjoyed the bunk bed room as well as the basement with its games and home theater) . The owners were particularly helpful and accommodating and checked in via email on how things were going. The hot tub was also a hit. The location is close enough to downtown Athens for shopping etc Overall this was in our top rental category of the over 20-25 rentals we have secured over the years. We hope to rent this property again if it is available.

Athens is at the foothills of Appalachian mountains , it is a historic college town where you can get all the modern amenities within few miles at the same time it has beautiful hilly terrain and abundance of nature, it is closer to hocking hills area as well . So it is a perfect blend of nature and amenities , that is why we chose this area.
