Dirty and run down

We checked into a dirty and very run down apartment. None of the pictures really show the terrible condition of the place (couch cushions slashed, lamps perilously dangling from ceilings, chair cushions badly stained, shower not properly draining and shower curtain with disgusting stains on it, also it smells like animal urine). I was shocked about the overall condition of the place AND about how dirty it was (dirty kitchen counters, refrigerator and microwave, dirty tissues in bedroom and closets, dishes and silverware sitting in a puddles of water etc).I sent so many messages to the host/property management and NOTHING was ever resolved. All I got was AI generated responses to my messages and a note that said they couldn’t contact me, because I had an international number. All in all it was a nightmare staying there and I can only recommend finding other accommodations!!

We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean and cute with plenty of beds for everyone. There are two things you should know before booking. This is not a single family home. There is another unit attached and we heard a lot of unexpected stomping above us. Right outside within feet of the house are train tracks and there is an excursion train that runs several times a day blowing its whistle loudly. While this might be a plus for the train lovers of the world it’s not for everyone.

Disappointment at the beach

We have used Vacasa many times in the past and have had great experiences. This was the exact opposite. We were not informed before arrival that housekeeping was not completed, and while we were unloading our car a man came in and dropped two blue bags in the entryway, mumbling something about not getting the laundry back because of traffic. Another man came by a few minutes later stating he needed our towels from the bathroom since we got our blue bags, cursing at his phone the whole time despite two toddlers being nearby. We had to put our own towels away, and change our sheets because we did not know if they were done and we found hairs on them. We called the 1-800 number and they didn't seem to even care. The number is outsourced and they read off of a script and have no customer service. Texts are AI generated. The place is so old, and needs a lot of TLC. The pans are old and have stains that can't be removed with washing, the kitchen vent is coated in dust that hasn't been cleaned in years, and the kitchen light flickers the whole time. We had to move a lamp into the kitchen to cook. There was what looked like throw up on the heater switch and the bathtub won't drain without holding down the drain switch. The pictures on the website are very outdated, and do not give an accurate view of what the place looks like. Most of the silverware is bent, and unusable. On the positive, this property is walking distance from the beach, and the beach is beautiful.

We stayed in Rockaway to check off a bucket list item & explore the area. This site was amazingly roomy & cozy while well used. We were comfy & happy, would stay again!

Great location, but house needs maintenance.

We loved the location, but there were things about the property that need repair. The drain in the sink of the only bathroom was stuck down, I could manually lift it about 1/8" to let it drain very slowly. That needs to be repaired. Also, the door handle on the door for the master bedroom was loosely attached. It came off if you pulled on it from either side. In addition, the house is heated by individual room heaters and this time of year the temps were in the 30s. All but one heater was off and the one that was on was set to 50 degrees. The house was FREEZING when we checked-in and the first night's sleep was VERY cold. All heaters needed to run for about 12-18 hours to get the house back up to a reasonable temperature inside.

Not the Ritz, great spot great price

Walking distance to everything, clean sheets/towels. Like visiting grandmas beach house. Nothing fancy here, you get what you pay for, overall good value we would stay here again

Great little place for the price

Very affordable. Completely adequate. One of the dining chairs was broken when we arrived and we had to call to have the cable fixed so my brother in law could watch the civil war football. But someone came right away so it all worked out fine.

Cozy and functional

This was a great place to spend a few days with our family and pops, close to the beach and close to all of Rockaway Beach’s stores and eateries. Minimalistic, but cozy.

We arrived at 4:30 a half hour after check in to be told by the cleaner that it wouldn’t be ready for another 20 minutes. We come back later in the evening and the floor is sticky and sandy, there are short and curly hairs on the toilet, the master bed has dog hair and sand all in the bedding. We ended up just sleeping on top of the bedding provided. The towels had dog hair all over them. The kitchen bowls provided had green powder residue all over on them and smelled horribly of marijuana. The tv worked occasionally most of the time it said check cable connection and after a few times of turning it off and on then it would work again. Master bedroom mattress is hard as a rock!! But honestly location is great! And you can’t fault the owners for the cleaning teams downfalls. I would definitely not rent it again just for the fact that it was filthy! Dog hair I understand because it’s pet friendly but the sand in all the bedding was unacceptable. I felt like they just re made the beds after the last ppl left and didn’t change the bedding.

Very Disappointing

This is the first bad review I have left on Vrbo. Of all my bookings, I have always been satisfied, and even overjoyed in certain locations. But this was not at all good. Besides the misleading post regarding this property the pictures are also a bit misleading as well. It seems as if the electric is not able to handle to needs. The heating seems a bit of a fire Hazzard. There is no vent or fan system for the stove top/ oven. There are a few other details about the house and surroundings, but its just easier to say, don't book this one. I really wish I could get my money back. The house darn near ruined my Mother's day weekend. 😞

Not too bad

The location and the price of the unit was great! The unit itself definitely needs some upkeep. The sinks all were leaking and no water pressure. For a unit that also accommodates 8 people, the hot water in the shower only lasts 10 minutes and you will definitely need to stagger showers. The master bed needs to be replaced as the mattress is completely flat and indented. We definitely made the most of our stay especially since it rained most of the 7 days we rented the unit. There needs to also be some signs about other tenants with dogs as they didn’t pick up their dog’s poop on the community yard. Other than a few upgrades to the unit, again, the location and price was great.

Excellent location

I'd like to say that it was nice except the floor/ceiling is very thin and we could hear every single word the people above us said as if they were in the same room with us and every step they took that goes throughout our entire space all through the day and night which kept us up a few nights and was irritating during the day a bit. But the location close to the beach was very nice and it had everything we needed. Also, there was always a place for us to park in front. As an aside, the bathroom door knob was broke so the door wouldn't close all the way and the bedroom mattress is really uncomfortable but other than that it was a decent stay.
