Originally from London, we relocated to the stunning beauty of East Devon in the summer of 2022. We adore the stunning countryside around us and love to get out and walk in the landscape both on our doorstep and the nearby Jurassic Coast.
We both love meeting new people and hosting felt like a natural extension, we also run the B&B next-door so we're always on site if you need a recommendation or want some hints or tips for a great day out.
We love good food and wine and the produce here in Devon is world-class, with amazing fruit and veg, seafood and fantastic meats, its all literally on our doorstep. We cook a lot here and are amazed by the quality of produce available as well as some of the amazing farm shops in the area.

East Devon really is a hidden gem - its not overly touristy, and it still feels real and rooted to its agricultural past, but only 35 minutes or so to the University City of Exeter. The scenery around here is truly breathtaking, rolling hills and plunging coastal scenery along the South West Coastal Path along the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the area is filled with beauty combined with a warm and friendly community here in Southleigh.
Although we're in the middle of the countryside, the beautiful seaside towns of Lyme Regis, just over the Dorset border, or Sidmouth with its Regency splendour and both only 20 minutes away, filled with quirky shops and did I mention the ice-cream???
Having lived in a city all my life, the sense of community combined with stunning scenery with low levels of noise and light pollution, you can see the Milky Way here on a clear night, we couldn't be happier and our tabbycat Tilly agrees!

Acorn Cottage is part of an old converted agricultural barn dating from 1868. It's packed full of charm and character but has every modern comfort you could want. Tastefully renovated its the perfect romantic getaway. The well equipt kitchen means that if you're into cooking up a storm when you're on holiday you have all you need, and as we provide all the basics including oils & herbs, you don't need to bring half you own kitchen with you, it is meant to be a holiday after all. Whilst we are just only over 10 minutes from the Jurassic Coast at Branscome & Beer, you're not in a tourist town in Southleigh, you;re in a community and you get to see the real East Devon here.
