The Old School is a charming stone and tiled country cottage which used to be the village school. Retaining many of the original features like the school bell, vaulted kitchen/dining room, Gothic arched doors and mullion windows, this luxury holiday cottage has been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard.

On the ground floor the well-appointed accommodation includes an open-plan kitchen and dining room complete with feature Aga, and a cosy sitting room with wood burning stove, plus a single bedroom with additional pull-out bed, a wet room and a utility room. On the first floor you will find the two comfortable bedrooms with garden views, and the large family bathroom.

Sitting on a quiet lane overlooking open countryside, and with a fully-enclosed walled garden including a small pond, The Old School is ideally situated for exploring West Dorset, South Somerset, and the stunning countryside and numerous quaint villages all around. There is a Loggia open on two sides under a tiled roof with timber decking, offering the ideal space for relaxing and enjoying views across the garden, or a spot of alfresco dining.

Nearby, there are plenty of places to visit, including the market towns of Crewkerne, Beaminster and Bridport, a selection of great country houses and gardens, and several of Dorset's famous hill forts including Lewesdon and Pilsdon Pen.

A sixth guest can be accommodated by using the pull-out bed in the ground floor bedroom. Please request when making your booking.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome to be kept to the ground floor and garden please (small additional charge).
Walled, fully enclosed garden including a pond - parents, please ensure children are supervised at all times.
A travel cot, stair gate and high chair are available on request.
The pond in the garden is fitted with a pond safe system.
