The property is incredibly beautiful, surrounded by 360 degree views, and it is so tremendously peaceful and relaxing that we were sorely tempted to spend most of our holiday there rather than getting out to the many sights that the area has to offer. It's really well-placed for getting in to Syracuse, seeing the countryside (which is pocked with ancient ruins and caves) and visiting the key baroque towns of south east Sicily - we were able to sight-see for part of the day and splash around in the pool afterwards, relaxing in the cool hillside breeze. The pool was freshly cleaned on arrival. There are lots of tables and chairs to use outside, either in the sun or shade as preferred. We were greeted by a very friendly Olga, who cleans and cooks for the owners and she showed us round the spacious, beautifully decorated property. Bruno, the owner, sent us some tips for places to visit and restaurants by text, gave us the neighbours details in case we needed to contact them and also offered Olga's services to cook a meal or help us with shopping etc if we needed - but we got by ourselves with the amazing fish shop in Canicattini, which sold the freshest fish I think we've ever tasted! We didn't ever find a really good local supermarket or market, which is a shame - we should have asked!. Dinner on the terrace was a wonderful experience. We'd love to come back here - it's so relaxing and we only skated the surface of places to visit.
