TOURIST TAXES & PASSPORT INFORMATION:
Some municipalities within the Eastern Algarve region have now introduced a Tourist Tax, where charges of around 1€ per person per night are applied to a maximum of 7 nights. This charge is levied by the Government, not us. You will be informed in advance if you are required to pay this, which will be required in cash on arrival, with a receipt issued for payment confirmation. It is also a lawful requirement for all non-Portuguese nationals to provide us with passport details for data entry into the national immigration records.
PRIVACY:
When booking private accommodation, we like to give you privacy during your stay. However, our local agents are available 24 hours per day should you need assistance of any kind and we are only a phone call away. As this property has a private pool, please remember that access will be required for maintenance/ upkeep.
WE KINDLY REQUEST:
The house will be well presented for your arrival, and departure cleaning is included in the rental value. However, we do ask for a respectful co-operation with the removal of rubbish, and that BBQ facilities are cleaned of food and debris before you leave. Charges will be incurred if it is deemed that the property is left in an unacceptable condition.
DEPARTURE DAY:
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end! - and on departure day, check out time is requested at 10.00h. We may be able to offer a later departure time only if there are no guests arriving on the same day. Unfortunately, however, this is unlikely in the summer months due to high volumes of reservations. We will confirm this with you as necessary.
The villa is located in the small rural hamlet of "Boa Vista" 2kms to the local town of Santa Catarina. There is a local bar at the bottom of the track.
SANTA CATARINA
The grandly named country village of Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo sits in the rolling foothills of the Serra da Caldeirão, mid-distance between Tavira and São Brás de Alportel and only some 15km from the golden beaches at Fuzeta. Basic amenities including a well-stocked mini-market and a tempting café/bakery can be found at the heart of the village, home also to famed kilns producing Santa Catarina terracotta tiles, many of which adorn terraces and swimming pool surrounds across the Algarve.
Cuisine: Traditional flavoursome country dishes can be enjoyed at a handful of local eateries while a greater selection are but a short drive in any direction!
Beaches: For a taste of the Algarve’s renown beaches, head to Tavira Centre to take the charming boat ride to the beach Island. Here you will find long reaching golden sands, an excellent choice of restaurants, and the cool, crisp Atlantic Ocean. A day out not to be missed!
Nature: The surrounding hills and valleys covered with ancient olive, cork and carob offer a rich tapestry of flora and fauna to be discovered under sunny blue skies, while the vast Ria Formosa Natural Park, stretching from Faro eastwards is a must visit for nature lovers.
Activities: This idyllic country backdrop provides an ideal environment for walking and cycling, while visits to the local Olive Farm at Moncarapacho for tastings, or a tour of the cork factory at São Brás will give insight to time-worn country traditions very much in evidence in this tranquil and untouched part of the Algarve.

Please note check-in times start at 16.00h and can be flexible as the property is a self-check in property. For early arrivals, it may be possible to offer a “bag drop” facility. For later arrivals, there may be the key safety box facility.
