Clachan Farmhouse is a splendid Victorian farmhouse overlooking fields and hills that run alongside the river Gary down to the hamlet of Old Struan. This recently renovated farmhouse features two spacious bedroomed apartments that can be joined to give the option of a four-bedroomed house (The Farmhouse and The Annexe). Both units feature modern and spacious self-catered kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms (some with en-suite) and utility rooms where you can store your shopping from the nearby House of Bruar, put away your muddy boots after a day of exploring the countryside or hang up your swimsuit after a dip in the river Gary.

Our Second Stay at Clachan Farmhouse

This was our second stay at Clachan Farmhouse, and once again we had a very enjoyable time. The property is in a great location and was an excellent base for our hunting trip in the Blair Atholl area. The farmhouse is spacious, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The location is particularly convenient for exploring the surrounding area and for our hunting activities. As could be expected with a well-used property, there are now a few signs of wear and tear, and some areas could benefit from a little maintenance and refreshing. However, this did not significantly affect our stay. Overall, we were very satisfied and would happily recommend Clachan Farmhouse to others. We would certainly consider staying here again on a future trip.

Much needed break after a rather hectic 2024

Very relaxing stay in excellent accommodation,and a beautiful area.The log fire was a great hit as we had snow. Will definitely visit again.

A bit mixed.

Our third year taking the Farmhouse, annex and the Cottage. This year we felt upgrades (mainly very limited charging sockets (USB etc) - we going 2 in a farmhouse bedroom - o didn’t check the annex or cottage. The decorating appears not to have been done for sometime, some of the windows in need of replacing. On the outside wall of the Cottage there appears to be a boiler - the cover of this was lying on the grass and by the looks of the grass under it it had been mown around it rather than pick it up.

Relaxing and peaceful stay

The Clachan Farmhouse is clean and modern inside and it's surrounded by miles of greenery. We enjoyed exploring the area and did an easy hike around River Garry in the early hours. If you're looking to escape the bustling city, you won't go wrong with Clachan Farmhouse. It's also within a few hours' drive to Loch Ness and the Landmark Forest Adventure Park, which the kids appreciated.

Clachan Farmhouse

Excellent week with my partner and our 2 year old. The house was very spacious, clean with a nice feel to it. The location was excellent - we spent time at Aviemore, Newtonmore, Blair Athol and Loch Tay. There is a bus stop right outside the properties that goes to Pitlochry. We used this to go to Blair Athol, very handy!

Just Fabulous!

We booked the Cottage, Annexe and Farmhouse for a family & friends getaway. The properties could not have been more perfect in terms of location and layout. We loved it as a base and the farmhouse kitchen worked brilliantly for dinner parties each evening! We will be returning!!

We were unable to get any TV reception during our stay. Watching some of the Olympics would have been nice. We had both the farmhouse and the annex.

Easter break

Fantastic stay in this spacious cottage. We also rented the Annex for our family and their friends and it worked perfectly. The cleanest cottage we've stayed in and also a great big log burner to warm us up after our lengthy walks and dry the walking boots. A car is a necessity.

Most satisfactory, comfortable, well equipped and clean.

We rented the Clachan “complex” (consisting of the Farmhouse, Cottage and Annex) for a deer stalking week. We were able to comfortably cater for 10/15 people utilising the Annex kitchen in conjunction with the Farmhouse kitchen. It worked well. Definitely recommend.

Excellent value for money. No particular friljs

Atholl Estates staff very helpful, booking process easy. Cottage spacious enough, furniture functional. It could be easily made a very comfortable 5-star let. Ditch modern furniture keep it 'country'. Better towelling etc. Regardless: we enjoyed it and would happily return.

Wonderful week

We spent last week in Perthshire at Clachan Farmhouse and we had a fantastic holiday. The house is so welcoming and relaxing and provides everything you might need. It was extremely clean and comfortable and is set in the most wonderful, scenic location which makes you feel you are in the middle of nowhere when in fact you are just minutes away from both the House of Bruar and Blair Atholl village. There is so much to see in the immediate area as well as slightly further afield. Will definitely return.

A lovely, warm, spacious house for two couples and a gathering of labradors.

The house is set in a lovely quiet location. The cleanliness was good, and everything we needed was there, and for a change in a rented house some of the kitchen knives were sharp enough to use. The kitchen facilities were fine, good fridge freezer, and plenty of room to cook. A very comfortable lounge, with an open fire. Bedrooms were large and comfortable, bathrooms likewise. A good feature was there was plenty of room for the dogs, and a good garden area, and walks from the door. The location was perfect, just off the A9, but we couldn’t hear the traffic at all. There is plenty to do in the area, whatever your activity. We will definitely return. Thank you to all the team at Atholl Estates that made our week so enjoyable.

Re annex and farmhouse (we had both)

Only real criticism was the hot/cold mixer taps which I considered as very dangerous. If running hot and cold mix, and cold was turned off, the hot alone was scalding hot, could easily give a nasty scald if not careful. Hot by itself was needlessly too hot. Apart from that we had a very relaxing and satisfying family holiday. Facilities provided in each house (including the cottage) were first class. Thank you. John Mitchell
