A detached and spacious stone built period house at the head of Batson Creek, only 10 minutes level walk into Salcombe. The house and gardens are south facing and perched above Batson Creek, on the Salcombe Estuary. Cosy Lodge for two people is placed at the end of the garden with estuary views and private amenities.
There is a large sun terrace with gazebo by the house and extensive castellated gardens provide beautiful views over the creek and surrounding countryside. The gardens go down to the edge of the creek, which can be accessed via a gate, with steps to a stone pontoon. This tidal mooring can accommodate a boat of c.13 foot (there is a public slipway by the entrance to the property where boats can be launched). The house has one designated parking place. Additional (charged) long stay parking is 5 minutes from the property.
Waterside Detailed Description - Ground Floor
Front door into small anteroom and separate cloakroom with WC & basin. Separate sitting room: wood panelled, electric log effect fire, TV, DVD, wifi and glazed doors that lead onto the sun terrace. Separate dining room: dining table and seating for 6, window seats, glazed door to terrace. Steps leading to separate galley style kitchen and occasional dining area: electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, tiled floor, stable door to terrace. Small utility room: washing machine, tumble dryer.
First Floor
From dining room, stairs up to first floor. Bedroom 1: twin beds, window seats, ensuite bathroom: bath with shower, basin, WC. Bedroom 2: twin beds, window seats. Family Bathroom: bath with shower, basin, WC. Bedroom 3: twin beds, window seats, wash basin.
Outside - The house benefits from a large newly constructed sun-terrace. The terrace is southerly facing with spectacular uninterrupted views across the creek. This is an ideal area for sun bathing and alfresco dining. Shade and shelter from the sun is provided by a beautiful feature gazebo. The house comes with outdoor garden furniture, sun loungers and BBQ.The terrace leads onto walled and terraced gardens with lawns, mature shrubs and trees. There is a brick pathway through the garden down to a castellated wall bordering the tidal creek. A gate and further steps down, provide guests with direct access to the estuary. A stone landing stage is suitable for a shallow draft boat/tender up to 13ft long. There is a public slipway at the end of the drive.
Salcombe is only a level 10 minutes walk away with access to all its facilities and amenities.
