Situated looking out over the blue flag awarded Widemouth Bay, the charming holiday retreat Driftwood showcases breath-taking panoramic views of the Cornish coastline. Brand new for 2023, the idyllic lodge and shepherds hut offer a perfect blend of comfort, tranquility, and natural beauty.Perfect for couples and friends, up to four guests can stay between the lodge and the shepherd’s hut. The lodge features a spacious open-plan living area, thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind a traditional decor. The doors open onto your private deck and fill the room with natural light, and offer stunning views of the surrounding vistas.Guests can make use of the well-equipped kitchen and all the necessary amenities to prepare delicious meals, including oven, hob, dishwasher and microwave. For evenings in a delight around the cosy dining table for four, or why not dine alfresco and make the most of the beautiful views, with BBQ, garden, and outdoor seating to enjoy the evening sunset. The lodge can sleep two guests with a king size bedroom and en suite shower room. The adjacent shepherds hut can sleep a further two guests in a king size bed, with en suite bathroom including shower, WC, and basin. Guests staying in the shepherd’s hut have use of a kitchenette with microwave, kettle, and toaster. Just a couple of miles from the nearby town of Bude, the beach at Widemouth Bay is a wide expanse of open sand stretching nearly two miles, with lots of rock pools to explore. Pronounced as ‘wid-muth’, it’s a great base to explore the North Cornwall and Devon coastline, with easy access to the Southwest Coast Path for walkers. Only a short drive away are the historic villages of Tintagel and Boscastle, steeped in legends and folklore. Up to two pets are welcome for an additional fee. Amazing location! What a beautiful cabin with a wonderful view. Cabin had everything we needed. Teenager loved their own cabin next door. Perfect location for the beach, easy walk down with surfboards and SUPs. Great location for trips out. If you want to wake to the sound of the sea, and be able to walk to the edge of the garden and look over the cliff edge to the waves beyond, or walk down to the (lifeguarded) beach and be in the water in five minutes, or sit out on the decking watching an amazing sunset, this is the place for you.And importantly the beds were comfortable.

Cabin located next to coastal walk.

Minutes to local beach. Very easy to walk to local restaurants and amenities. Beautiful views of the ocean from the cabin and hut and went to bed with the sound of the waves. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommend.

Great!

Loved the place. Compact and a bit short on storage space but quite well equipped. Really relaxing and provided a splendid break. Decking with barbecue and table allowed outside relaxation with a lovely view down the coast and over the surfing beach a few minutes walk away. Garden newly mown and fine for our Airdale.

What a beautiful spot - right on the beach at Widemouth Bay with amazing uninterrupted views.

We arrived to freezing winds and storms. It took a little while to get everything warmed up but we were soon cosy and it was lovely to hear the wind whistling and surf crashing when in the super comfy beds. Both house and hut are well equipped, beds comfy and lovely bathrooms. You can do the coastal walk right from the door and there's a nice 6 mile round trip walk to Bude. We had a problem with a broken extractor fan and the agent and owner could not have responded quicker - lovely to deal with and had everything sorted by the time we got back from a walk. I imagine that it's heaven in summer, but we loved being there in all weathers and will be back for another winter break.

The property and location exceeded our expectations, what a view!

We had a lovely holiday and will definitely return. It was perfect for access to the coastal path and beach, no need to put the dogs on leads. Large secure garden for the dogs. Lots to do locally, especially if you like walking and swimming/surfing. Great spot for exploring north Cornwall.

Beautiful experience

The location is unrivalled in my opinion. The view of, and proximity to, the beach is perfect, yet still retains a feeling of privacy and remoteness. The cabin and hut are well-equipped and full of character. The welcome pack much-appreciated. The hut could have been cleaner. A few dusty surfaces, e.g. windowsill.

Four Adults and a dog

Just got back from a weeks holiday and missing the view already. Daughter and her partner stayed in the shepherds hut which worked very well. The dog loved running around the secured garden but loved his walks on the beach in the morning more, which can be easily reached from the gate at the bottom of the garden. Very close to Bude which is a lovely town to explore. Would definitely recommend this property for the views alone but it’s very cosy inside too. A few cobwebs, and dust in corners but must be hard keeping a timber framed building clean.

Fantastic holiday home

We loved the location, the position, the views, the garden, the comfy accommodation, the well appointed en suite shower rooms There was no kitchen cupboard space to put any food whatsoever and the fridge was very small (this was the one thing that knocked the accommodation rating down from excellent to good)

The house and location is absolutely fantastic.

We really enjoyed our stay House was perfect for us to have a relaxing stay and had everything you need. The area is not great for cellphone cover so please ensure that you get the location correct ahead of arrival.

We had a fab stay the location of the property is amazing. Improvement could be made on the cleanliness, we found mouldy food in the fridge and insects on the kitchen work tops, and had to hoover dust and sand out of the draw’s before putting clothes in.An outside tap for rinsing beach stuff would be a good addition

The cabin was amazing! Breathtaking views of the sea and beach from it's clifftop location

The cabin was amazing! Breathtaking views of the sea and beach from it's clifftop location. Ideally situated for a short beach walk to lovely cafes, bars and restaurants on the beach, and obviously for the stunning beach at Widemouth Bay itself! The cabin is very cosy and was warm even in bracing October storms. It has everything you'll need and has been kitted out very thoughtfully and sensitively. Outside there is a big decking area and garden with lots of privacy. The garden opens directly on to the South West Coast Path and although there are plenty of walkers they are far enough away from the cabin to still allow for perfect privacy. There is a big property directly next door but the cabin is shielded from it very well. There is also a lovely shepherd's hut as part of the property which although we didn't use, looked great. Lots of great walks direct from the door including to Bude via the Weir and back via the coast path. Can't recommend enough! Thankyou! Dog loved it too!

Just Perfect

Driftwood is located in a lovely spot right on the coastal path. The cabin, hut and garden was just lovely and the dogs loved having a mooch in the secure garden when not out walking on the beach. We loved the little gestures that were left for us including a bottle of fizz which went down very nicely, thank you. The cabin has everything you need for a relaxing break and the falling asleep to the sound of the sea was just perfect. The beach was easily accessible and we walked to Bude on the coastal path which was a lovely walk. We met Nigel who was extremely welcoming and friendly. We will definitely rebook. Whilst the cabin was “surface clean” and tidy, more care is needed with the cleaning regime. We were told we were unable to check in until 4pm due to a same day check out which required the house keeper to carry out their duties. However, there were cobwebs and dust in places that would suggest it had not been “deep cleaned” for some time. Whilst that didn’t bother us so much, and appreciate it is right on the coast, for the price, I would would have expected slightly better cleaning standards. Having 2 small dogs, I hoovered every other day but discovered under the sofa, bed and fireplace was extremely dusty.

Just magical!

We had the most amazing few days at Driftwood - waking up to the beautiful sea views is just magical! Ted, our dog, had enjoyed every moment, especially watching the world go by as he sat outside in the garden. Beautiful setting, lovely walks and amazing cabin - thank you!

Cosy home and beautiful garden - exceeded our expectations

This trip, accommodation and location exceeded our expectations and more. It has been one of my favourite holidays ever. Cosy home, beautiful garden for Poppy and amazing sunsets every night. We were blessed with beautiful weather as well. Can't wait to come back as soon as possible!

Great hosts, great accommodation, great location

We were not blessed with great weather during our stay. However, we were blessed with fantastic accommodation. Driftwood is such a beautiful cabin with the shepherd's hut being equally impressive. The dogs have loved every second of their stay. The beach being so close, the garden being perfect for them to be nosy and watch the world go by. We were lucky enough to be first guests and know how lucky people following in our footsteps will be. Great hosts, great accommodation, great location.
