Surprising house in a perfect location

You really can't ask for a better location, directly adjacent to the beach at the end of a quiet street. The house layout is ideal as well. Wonderful amenities and truly top notch facility. We hope to return again, one day!

Just pack your shorts and suits, it's all you need!

Brian and Gail think of everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. From the table being set, the fresh flowers, the beach towels, the fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need except the food of course and so much more. This was our third stay and it never disappoints.

Excellent accommodations

We absolutely loved our stay here! There was plenty of room for our family of five. Brian and Gail were incredibly easy to work with. The location can’t be beat. We especially enjoyed the lower deck for lunch and dinner outside and the upper deck for sunsets and that gorgeous view! Beds were comfy, house was well stocked, soap, linens, you name it! Everything we needed was provided. We hope to see you again!

Upwind Family Vacation

Of all our weeks on cape cod, this one has been the best. Having welcome gifts for our son at check-in was such a nice surprise. Reading each morning on the deck, heading to the beach and coming back for happy hour each evening. Such a beautiful home. Thank you both for sharing it with us.

Great Access to Beach

Great house with everything you would need for our family vacation. We like making on our own breakfasts and lunches and the trying new restaurants for dinner. Just bring clothes and food for your stay. The only thing we found that being next to the beach parking lot, cars were coming all night long. Besides that, it was perfect.

Perfect!

Upwind is a generously appointed (complete with innumerable extras, like beach towels, beach umbrellas, coffees, teas, soaps, and on and on...), spacious, supremely clean, welcoming, nicely located, and comfortable. A perfect home base for our cape wanderings. And the grounds are lovely, complete with wildlife-friendly habitat and consequently a spectacular birdsong symphony!

4th of July getaway

This summer home was a balm for the soul. We have left tanned, relaxed and looking forward to another week at Upwind. To be so close to the beach was a blessing, and watching and hearing the birds in their wildlife habitat was a bonus. Gail and Brian thought of everything - every time we thought we would need something, we opened a door or drawer and there it was! It was perfect!

Beautiful house

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cape cod house with us. We loved the peace that the waterfront brought us. The bird sanctuary was pretty and interesting to watch the different birds. We loved everything about the house, beach and nearby areas. We took in seal excursion, mini golfing, and tried various seaside restaurants. These guests were great, and extremely complimentary about the house during and after their stay as evidenced in their review. So I was confused by the 4 star rating. I inquired if something was wrong and they said it was a typing error on their part. They tried to change it, not allowed. They tried to write a second review, but Homeaway in its infinite wisdom would not allow that to happen either. C’est la vie!

A breathe of fresh air!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay and accommodations. First time at the cape and celebrating a 60th birthday. We will recommend this pace to anyone that is looking to come this way. Beats the week of rain in Chicago - much needed sunshine :) Thank you for your thoughtful and welcoming home away from home! The week was a success! We WILL be back.

A little piece of paradise

Upwind is better than advertised. The location on Lewis Bay is convenient to the Island ferries, JFK Memorial in Hyannis and all that the Cape has to offer. The beach on Lewis Bay in front of the house is just big enough for the area, never crowded, with warm water and gentle surf., and just a few miles down Route 28 are larger beaches and a really good restaurant, The Skipper. The cottage itself has all the amenities you would need; towels, beach chairs, etc. and a really cool outside shower to rinse off the salt and sand. We would definitely recommend this home to our family and friends.

Upwind

Upwind is an amazing house and Gail and Brian the best of hosts. Anything we could possible need was provided and any minor issues or questions we had were immediately responded to. I have never rented a place that had a better equipped kitchen or more items provided to make the stay perfect. The beach is only a 3 minute walk across a parking lot and is perfect for children as it is quite calm and warm. Great property!!!!! Great hosts!

The Upwind in West Yarmouth

I rented this place because I wanted to have a view of the ocean and also be centrally located. The house was very nice, fully equipped and accommodated me, my husband and our 3 older children (19-24) and 2 friends very comfortably. It has the best outdoor shower which we used all the time. The landlords were very nice and left us a cute gift basket when we arrived. It was great to have the beach right at our doorsteps and the house was a great location for a short drive to many of the Cape beaches and shopping.

Phenomenal rental on the beach, kid-friendly

This place is a real gem. Thank you so much for your hospitality and organized communication throughout our stay. It was an incredible experience to have a full week of being on the beach. Your home felt cozy and full of everything we could possibly need. Our kids loved all the sand toys (and gift bag) and we played more of the board game “Sorry” than ever in life. We enjoyed meals and popsicles outside and the kids loved doing cartwheels on the lawn. Thanks for your warmth and responsivity when we needed anything. We would absolutely love to come back and make this a tradition.

Beautiful Upwind on the Cape

Brian and Gail, What a beautiful place Upwind is! From the moment we walked through the door, we were in awe. The beautiful table setting, a lovely bottle of wine and the bag of delightful goodies you left for us. You left no stone unturned. The location of the house is so convenient to get to all the places we enjoyed on the cape. Watching the ships come and go, overlooking Lewis Bay, walking on the beach and enjoying the lower and upper decks were a great highlight. You two are the ultimate host and hostess! So sorry we didn’t get to meet Gail but hopefully next time. Thank you so much for everything.

Upwind Keeps Getting Better and Better!

Our recent vacation was either the 4th or 5th year we stayed at Upwind. I've lost count since once we stayed, we never considered staying anywhere else. The location can't be beat. The short walk across the bridge to the beach is appealing, not to mention the beautiful views of the ocean from the house. The owners have done BEAUTIFUL renovations over the past several years and their attention to detail makes one feel welcome and at home. They have so many things for their guests to use, from beach chairs to towels. We've been able to pack less than when we originally stayed. The West Yarmouth area is very nice. There are good restaurants and things to do. I would highly recommend a stay at Upwind. Thank you Brian and Gail for providing your lovely home, allowing us another year of great family memories!

Annual Cape Cod Getaway

Accommodations were lovely, hosts were responsive and respectful of our privacy. Comfortable bedrooms and thank you for having adult beds in all of the rooms. The house does not have A/C which we did not realize for some reason, but all was well and it did not impair our comfortability. Gail said that they had never had a problem with it - and she was right! House is completely stocked with all that you need except for the food! We would have liked a bigger grill- some nights it was difficult to cook what we wanted as we are BIG grill people. Parking lot in front of house was only temporarily annoying when a camper would park in a space directly in front of us, but all in all, not bad - we were there in off season. Great outdoor shower!! We are planning on a repeat visit as soon as we have next year's plans in place. Thank you Gail and Brian and safe travels to you until we meet again!

Relaxing

This was the most pleasant and relaxing vacation we’ve ever been on. Our hosts, Gail and Brian couldn’t have been any nicer! It was a pleasure meeting them and Coco. They were helpful and the welcome book they prepared was great. The welcome bag they left for us had some treasures that will continue to remind us of this week. Very thoughtful . The house was cute and comfortable. Decorated so nicely and super clean. The house was well equipped with everything you could possibly need!
