Casa Kachina ist eine einzigartige Adobe, zwei Schlafzimmer, zwei Bäder zu Hause. Es gibt eine optionale 1 Schlafzimmer / 1 Bad Gästehaus, wenn zusätzlicher Platz benötigt wird. (Bitte rufen Sie für zusätzliche Preise). Vordereingänge teilen sich einen hoch ummauerten, gut angelegten und reifen Baumhof. Diese Funktion ist einzigartig in der Los Altos Community.

Die Küche ist schließlich mit Krups Kaffeezubehör, einem Toaster, Mikrowelle, einem Side-by-Side-Kühlschrank / Gefrierschrank, einem Vier-Flammen-Gasherd und Backofen, Geschirrspüler und den schönsten El Salto und Taos Mountain Views ausgestattet. Aussicht kann vom Hauptschlafzimmer, Esszimmer und Wohnzimmer genossen werden. Das Wohnzimmer und das Hauptschlafzimmer verfügen über Holzkamine.

Das Hauptschlafzimmer verfügt über ein Kingsize-Bett und zwei Badezimmer mit begehbarer Dusche. Das zweite Schlafzimmer verfügt über 2 große Betten, zwei Badezimmer und eine Dusche / Wanne-Kombination.

Das Casa Kachina ist mit Ledersofas, lokaler Töpferkunst von den ursprünglichen Besitzern und einigen schönen südwestlich inspirierten Ölgemälden dekoriert und eingerichtet.

Das optionale Casita Kachina ist ein 1-Schlafzimmer-Duschbad, das sich neben dem Gemeinschaftshof mit einem separaten Eingang von der Casa befindet. Diese charmante Casita verfügt über ein luxuriöses Queensize-Schlafsofa, einen Kiva-Kamin mit Blick auf das Mesa und ein Vollbad mit ebenerdiger Dusche.

Casita Kachina hat einen Kühlschrank unter der Theke, eine Lavazza Espressomaschine mit Kaffeepads und eine Mikrowelle.

House was wonderful. Great location, great views. Quiet. Well stocked kitchen. Only two minor quibbles: 1) tv was tiny and didn’t work, but wifi was great so was able to stream content easily on laptop and phone; 2) there was no instruction manual/house guide, so I had to text the house cleaner with questions about what to do with garbage/recycling etc. Every other property I’ve stayed at had the basic stuff written down somewhere. Nonetheless, I’d have no hesitation staying here again.

Reviewer Comments: Since this was our very first vacation rental experience and our first visit to the Taos/Arroyo Seco area, we had limited expectations. We found the property very spacious and comfortable and generally clean (other than the cobwebs floating freely from the high ceilings). It would have been helpful for the light switches to be labeled - we had difficulty figuring them out, and many seemed to have no purpose. Our apologies if our experimentation left lights on in weird places. It would also have been helpful to have a binder in the kitchen with the operating instructions for the coffee makers and other appliances, rather than relying on our "best guess" button-pushing.We loved relaxing on the back patio, enjoying the cool breezes and watching the prairie dogs play, the perfect place to hunker down with a good book. We enjoyed trips to the Taos Farmers Market & Art Museum, and had tasty meals at Orlando's and Taos Mesa Brewing Company. However, as in many small towns, parking is less than adequate and the sidewalks roll up early - no lingering late over dinner with friends.Overall, we had a good first experience, and may well return in the future, with better knowledge of what to expect (like the surprising number of unpaved narrow gravel roads, some of which were more than a little scary to navigate in a rental car). We enjoyed the adventure and would definitely recommend the property/area to friends. Thanks for the hospitality!

Don’t be fooled by a small thoroughfare, park and explore the hidden treasures off Main Street. The ONLY faults with the home are the need for carpets to be cleaned, a bit of yard maintenance and dusting. Otherwise, it’s a place to where we will return. Thank you, Gary!!!!

Breathtaking mountain views

Very clean, larger than it appears in pictures. fluffy bed, Roku TV, wildlife that visited us included a large coyote, a large cat, several families of prairie dogs, and nearby is gorgeous Taos ski valley, also Arroyo Seco with charming shops and vegetarian food. We saw elk and antelope as well. Loved shopping in Taos at the large souvenir shops. Nancy was great and responsive to our needs!

It is local in style, maybe a southwest adobe 70’s , but very well maintained. There is even a patch of the wall, unsealed to reveal the sealed mud building technique! Extra charm. The fireplace no longer is for use to roar with wood, as pictured, as it had to be changed to a candle, which was ok for us, since the house was very warm. The beds were extra comfortable filled with pillows. Everything you’d need to cook- on gas! Olive oil and spices were available to use. Plenty of nice shampoo + conditioner and soap. A blow dryer, too. Toilet paper, paper towels, foil + Saran, also. Really nice pottery plates + local style cocktail glasses. Comfortable couches. TV with Netflix and more. The master bathroom is a bit dated, with a 70’s bathtub. The other bedroom shower (only) is cool with local tiles. If you opt for adding the 3rd bedroom, (we didn’t) you should note the entry is separate, just outside of the front door to the main house. You can also enter the house through the garage to use the mud room for your skis + boots. The washer and dryer are in the utility room. The other thing, that should be understood from viewing the property pictures, is that the pool is not in the house. It is in a separate building, the clubhouse, a 3 minute walk. The pool is grand! We rented during the winter, so, the tennis + basketball courts were covered with snow. But, I’d come back in the Spring! The area the house is located in, Arroyo Secco, is a gem! It’s a tiny community, about 20 minutes from downtown Taos. It has a delicious healthy cafe, a few little gift shops, a restaurant. It is only 15 minutes to drive to the ski mountain. The caretaker was completely responsive and the property management company, as well.

Cozy dream house in the snow

The house was just perfect! Right down the street from our friends. Super close to Taos Mountain and Taos village. The kitchen was well appointed and suited our needs perfectly. We loved the views of the mountains from the living room and master. Nancy the property manager was super helpful. The property management company needs to update their information regarding fireplace usage and the wifi info. Everything else was amazing. We had a spectacular visit and look forward to future visits.

Great Getaway & Location - but room for improvement.

The property, location and natural beauty of the surroundings are all outstanding. The relative value of the rental property - Casa Kachina - was also solid. This property is in great need of some upkeep and general maintenance however: screens, doors and windows are not fully functional. We had to replace the coffee maker in the rental. Each kiva had a note attached which read "please do not burn anything in the kiva - the plaster is very hard to repair" or something along this theme. Why post the availability in the profile if, in fact, the owner does not want these used? Finally, the management company - Premier Properties/Gary: Up front, we shared how important connectivity was while we stayed at Casa Kachina as we were working from home (WFH), and were assured Internet/phone/wifi were all above average and fully functional. In the information package provided there was a home phone number listed for the property (land line). On the day of arrival there was no phone in the house, so we tried our phone (brought from home) in all of the jacks in the house - none were operational. I contacted Gary immediately, and was told that he would contact the owner and get back to me ASAP - we never heard from him once for the 3 week duration of the stay and had to "rely" on sketchy cell phone service for conducting business. A simple - "there is no land line in operation" - would have been preferable to no answer at all, which was not only unacceptable, but unprofessional as well.

We enjoyed apples from the apple tree in the backyard every day. Many species of birds were seen including a magpie that landed on a limb next to me and chattered at me! The views were spectacular with wonderful sunsets of course. We had a coyote come right to the property line in the backyard! The home is delightful and has more than what you would expect in a vacation rental. Everything and more in the kitchen. Great courtyard in front to sit in morning and have coffee or tea. Very cozy home. Great music options and movies to choose from. Lovely walks up and down the neighborhood street. Will definitely come again!

If you have pets or small children beware - these rodents were not only all over the back and front yard, they were running up to the back patio door and in the front courtyard. Yuck. This is probably not an issue for the cold weather months.
