The village, which consists of cob and thatch houses located in the centre of rural Devon, is 5 miles west of the historic town of Hatherleigh. Hatherleigh is a great central position for the coast-to-coast, long-distance track, which includes the well-known Tarka track, and is located in the Torridge Valley, approximately seven miles from the boundary of the Dartmoor National Park.
