Wonderful Family Gathering Place

We had our extended family gather for a wedding, and held a dinner in the space for everyone the evening before. It was wonderful! The space gave us room to spread out; the kitchen allows us to fix food for 40 folks; and the lack of elevator provided a great workout ;-). Honestly, we didn't mind the stairs, and overall had a great time!

Awesome place!

This is probably the most unique short term rental we’ve ever stayed in. The location is incredible. The basketball gym, upscale kitchen, roof top decks and all the bed and bathrooms were clean in great shape. There are so many nooks in this place that you can spread out as much as you want or it’s big enough to all be together. There is plenty to do in town and you can take shuttles to the outer islands easily or hit up cedar point. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Happy 55th and 60th couples trip

What a great property for 5 couples to stay in! Great location to local pubs and music on the pier. Easy access to Jet Express to Put in Bay. Family room fit all 10 of us to sit and have coffee together. Fun rooftop for sunset and view of the lake. 5th bedroom was small but worked for our group. Clean and comfortable. Guys loved having a basketball court! Huge kitchen!

A Perfect Family Reunion

Our mini-family reunion of 17 had the greatest time at this location. We had kids from age 6-18 and 8 adults. There was plenty of space and activities to accommodate everyone’s interest and energy. One of a kind property!

The pictures do not do this place justice--it is HUGE and you really have to see it to believe it! We went there for a few days to take out kids to Cedar Point and it was very conveniently located. It was great to come back to this beautiful penthouse with its incredible kitchen and tons of space with games and other activities to keep everyone entertained. The rooftop deck has great views as well! Hope to come back!

The only place you should stay in Sandusky

This is truly an incredible property and Sharon was a great host who communicated very well and allowed for a stress free experience (which is great because of how many people you have to be responsible for in larger parties). Pics don’t do it justice this place is massive! Everyone slept comfortably and no one could get enough of that gorgeous rooftop view. Basketball court was very high quality and kitchen had more than enough for cooking in. If you’re a picky planner where everything has to be perfect (like myself) you can’t pass up on this place if it’s available!

Great Family Time

This is a fascinating place. One of our family members did some research on the history of the building. Lots of space to stretch out, but lots of steps to climb. The kids - and adults - played lots of basketball. Due to the coronavirus, we mostly stayed in. Ate all of our meals in. Lots of room for more than one cook in that great kitchen. Teens could always find something to do. Adults spent a lot of time chatting. Fun times relaxing on the roof-top deck. It was a great time!

Large and entertaining space for a wedding reception.

We rented this space for a wedding reception. Our guests loved the venue and kept asking us how we found it. There was plenty of counter, fridge, and freezer space for food. It rained while we were there, so we were not able to use the rooftop, but the large windows on the main floor provided great views of Sandusky Bay. We had to bring our own lighting and stereo system for a dance floor, which was tough since there are many steps to get into the venue. The owners were very responsive and came out our first full day when the internet wasn't working. Overall, I would recommend this location.

A Spacious Retreat with Many Amenities

We recently stayed at this VRBO rental and had a wonderful experience! The spacious layout of the house provided ample room for our group, and the variety of amenities made our stay incredibly comfortable. The living room area has several couches that provide a great area to spend time together as well as the extra long dining tables that fit our whole family. The kitchen is wonderful for anyone who enjoys cooking. With its array of appliances, including several coffee makers, bowls, serving trays, many pots and pans, we had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The living areas were equally impressive, with comfortable beds that ensured a restful night's sleep for everyone. Highlights of our stay included the rooftop patio which offered a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening gatherings, with stunning views and a relaxed ambiance, and the gym which was a great place for dance parties and letting the kids play. While the property could benefit from a bit more attention to detail in terms of cleanliness, this did not overshadow the overall positive experience. One of the grills in the kitchen needed attention and the host responded to my message immediately and remedied the situation quickly. The generous space and varied amenities made this rental a standout choice for our vacation. We would recommend it to others looking for a spacious and well-equipped getaway!

18th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

The Property was AMAZING! And Sharon was excellent to work with, she went above and beyond to make our stay GREAT! I had 6 17 & 18 year olds with me to celebrate my son's 18th birthday. The place is only 10 minutes from Cedar Point (which was the main destination for the boys). We were also able to go on a fishing boat, which the boys loved. Of course, the basketball court was the hit of the property. When they got done playing basketball, they turned to dodge ball and anything else they could think of. I wasn't able to get the TV to work in the living room area, and Sharon came right over and got it up and running (and it was user error, not anything with the place). I would recommend this property to anybody with a large group.

Flawless modern touch to the 1900’s— 5 STARS 🌟

The property exceeded both my husband and I, as well as our guests that joined us for a Birthday weekend. This was certainly one of my favorite properties we have rented. This building built in the 1900’s has every modern touch, yet keeps many original touches. This makes the property intriguing to all. From top to bottom, impeccable taste and NO detail left out... Rooftop gathering, a little grilling, corn hole and music kept us close to the Lake Erie and neighborhood sites. Gymnasium and theatre room will WOW all ages to include many amenities to entertain all! The kitchen was amazing to include dining and over the top living space! Pictures on site don’t even come close to showcasing the modern flair to historical 7500 SQFT. Property with the WOW factor! Thank you Sharon for sharing this beautiful home with family and friends. A must stay with the kids and rest of the family! We will be back!

The moment you enter this home, these words come to mind: Unbelievable, breathtaking, and WOW!!

Thank you so so much for such a beautiful experience for the young girls from The Nehemiah Center! I wish we could have stayed much longer in this gorgeous home. It was like a dream sleeping in a place so amazing and intricately beautiful. Seriously, this location had all of us, (25), continuously smiling and giving little gasps of joy throughout our stay. We absolutely loved being there and the details were so appreciated. The bowel of snacks and goodies had all of the girls eyes as big as saucers. Though we never got a chance to use them, the cotton candy maker and the popcorn machine were equally amazing additions to the to the already phenomenal accommodations. Your instruction book was clear and precise. You have a knock out home and you can feel all the love you have put into it!! Fantastic!

We stay in a lot of vacation homes, and this one was our favorites by far. TONS of space so we could be together if we wanted to or find a quiet corner to relax in. The decor was absolutely gorgeous throughout the house. Very nice touches. The basketball court, air hockey and pool tables were a huge hit. The kitchen is well equipped and enormous. We loved the huge dining table. Roof top deck was phenomenal and we enjoyed the fire table to keep us cozy when the sun dipped. Everywhere we went was walkable - shopping, bars, restaurants and the perfect park to watch the eclipse. All excellent perks that we thoroughly enjoyed. 4 instead of 5 stars for a couple reasons, that did not in any way detract from our fantastic experience, but made it slightly less than perfect. The theater seating and giant screen would have been a lot of fun, but the projector is so dated it's basically unusable. Secondly, the listing says it sleeps 25, which it probably does. It would work great for groups of friends or a few large immediate families with lots of kids, but not for more than 5 couples who want their own room (ex - the master bedroom has a lovely king bed and also 4 bunk beds - that are cute! But we didn't want other people in our room). There are rooms with doors for 4 couples + a loft. The rest of the sleeping space is bunk beds or futons in shared rooms. We would definitely stay here again!!
