London’s city-weary aficionados know full well that a brief sojourn to the green and pleasant townships of West London is as sure to restore and rejuvenate as any country break. Still well within arm’s reach of the inner-city’s sights and sounds, this is the perfect family retreat in an area many visitors miss out on. Perched on the verge of a sprawling throng of green, this is the place for long romps through parks and commons, riverside cycles by world-famous gardens and even an afternoon’s deer spotting….
If you’d rather stay closer to home, there’s plenty on offer here for long afternoons you’ll be nostalgic for, even as they’re happening. Fling open the kitchen doors and enjoy table-tennis tournaments, BBQs (with a cold beer in hand), or dinner parties in the sweet evening air of your generous and well-kept garden.
Full of expansive calm, the open-plan kitchen and dining area is lifted by clean-lines and crisp white interiors, offering class and comfort in equal measure. The dining table provides seating for up to 8 people, whilst a smooth and stately kitchen island offers an informal alternative. Flowing out from this space are two reception rooms where well-stretched legs can curl up for movie nights or warm themselves in the toasty glow of a roaring fire. Restful vibes continue into the master bedroom, where soothing aquamarine meets modern grandeur and a sparklingly smart en-suite comes complete with walk-in marble shower. Elsewhere, bedrooms abound for every taste, from those soft citrusy creams to brass-spangled country suave. High up in the eaves exists a quiet world of its own, complete with bathroom and trundle bed for two, and even a living area where kids can play (read watch TV) to their heart’s content. There is also parking available for one car.
We Love:
What a dream this is for parents. The space is tacitly arranged to afford plenty of room for both kids and adults alike. Come summer, this home really comes into it own - why not kick back with a glass of wine on the patio while the kids play ping-pong out on the lawn. Smiles all round.
Home Truths:
No smoking, pets or parties please. There is a lovely cat named Coco who will be at the house this summer. If you don’t want to feed her, the host has a friend who lives nearby who can come every other day to check on and feed Coco, just let us know when booking and we will let you know when they will be popping by.
