Neighborhood
On the Northern Bank of the River Thames in the Eastern Borough of Tower Hamlets, Limehouse is a former docking area now an exclusive and atmospheric part of London combining vintage old-school charm with a trendy professional crowd. Limehouse is known for its picturesque views of the Thames and a walk around the Limehouse Basin is one of the most distinguished in the capital. For those more interested in shopping, although Limehouse is not known for its abundance of shops, the short journey to Canary Wharf should provide all the necessary retail therapy. Neighbouring Wapping is famous for its cobbled streets and range of classic pubs but Limehouse has forged a reputation as a credible alternative. Narrow Street is a famous old fashioned road; the location of Gordon Ramsay’s imaginatively named gastropub ‘The Narrow’.
