A lovely few days in York

Great location, with an easy walk into the city centre and a lovely selection of local shops just around the corner. The property has plenty of space for four adults and is very well equipped, with everything you could need, including ample crockery, pots and pans. Having convenient parking for one car directly outside was an added bonus. All in all, the property provided everything we needed for a very enjoyable few days in York.

Lovely place to stay, just be aware there's only one offering space, not two like the listing says. Also the plug in the bathroom doesn't stay down so had to use shower instead

Clean, well-equipped, comfortable. The location was great, local co op, greengrocer and wine bar/cafe.. short walk to the city.

Comfortable three bedroom house but 2 of the bedrooms a little on the small side. Very clean and well equipped. Also good location - easy access to the centre of York.

Perfect family get away

This was the perfect home for our family getaway. Home was spacious and well equipped. Great location too with a play park just up the road for the littlest of our party and only a 10 minute walk into town for everyone else. Thank you for a lovely week away :)

The Backyard No2. Highly recommend 3 bed house

Modern property in private location with easy access to York city centre. It was perfect for our family of 4. Very clean, lots of utensils and appliances provided. Everything looked new. Met the property owner who was very friendly and welcoming. Family loved the house and would definitely use again.

2 Wood Street Mews, York

Very nice property in a good location. Rooms were a little on the small side with limited hanging space. The box room had a bit of a doggy smell and the bed would have been better with the head at the other end so the bedside table could have been placed next to it. Very well equipped

Comfortable stay at Backyard No 2

The property was clean, tidy and had all the amenities. It was within walking distance to the city centre and supermarkets. There are also a couple of bus stops nearby and there is a parking space for one car outside the property. We had a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable stay at Backyard No 2. The only suggestion we would like to make is that it would have been nice to have a wardrobe or clothes rail in the bedrooms. We would definitely recommend the property for anyone wanting to stay in York.

Backyard NO 2, excellent stay

We stayed for a few days while visiting relatives in Heworth who couldn't fit us into their house. We found the property to be scrupulously clean when we arrived. The house is of modest size but we were very impressed by the thought that had gone into the design. Everything was very usable and on a sunny day we enjoyed sitting out in the garden. We would recommend the place wholeheartedly and would readily choose to stay there again. One thing to note is that as of mid July 2025, Google Maps does not show Wood Street Mews very well. You need to go to satellite view to see the little road. Apple Maps does better and has Wood Street Mews correctly displayed. The property is well situated for visiting Heworth and close to bus stops for getting to York city centre. Say a 5 out of 5 location score for Heworth, 4 out of 5 if the intended use is York tourism.
