Moorhens' Rest is a modern, fully-equipped home in the heart of the Cotswolds Water Park with a large deck overlooking Windrush Lake. It is a tranquil and relaxing property, but there is also a wide variety of possible daytime activities, making it the perfect getaway, whatever type of holiday you desire. Your family/friends can lounge in the sun on the open deck and watch the sunset with a glass of prosecco, or explore the various outdoor activities within walking distance!
The House:
The lodge sits in a south-facing position with a large, recently-extended deck looking out over the lake. From this vantage you have a perfect view of the peaceful, gated community with its own unique blend of manicured lawns and protected biodiversity.
Moorhens’ Rest has recently been completely refurbished to an exacting standard and contains all the necessary ingredients for a modern luxury holiday. The entire downstairs is open-plan with a view through to the decking and lake at the rear. The large island-centred kitchen features a full-size fridge, an additional drink’s fridge, freezer, microwave/grill, dishwasher, plus a large range cooker and is generously equipped with appliances and utensils.
Beyond the kitchen lies the living room and dining area. There is also a convenient downstairs loo which contains a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, sleeping up to six people. The master bedroom comes with lake views, a king-sized bed and an en-suite with walk-in shower. The guest bedroom at the front of the house has a double bed whilst the twin room next door has two stackable single beds (and therefore can sleep either one or two people). The guest and twin rooms share a family bathroom with shower and bath. There is also a cot and highchair available for infants (bedding not provided).
Parking for two cars is available with the lodge.
The wider site has a variety of facilities such as a children’s playground, football field, tennis courts and indoor games rooms with table tennis and table football. Windrush can be used for boating or you can spend the day fishing at one of the designated fishing sites. Further afield, there is a wide variety of watersports accessible on nearby lakes, a large network of cycle paths and footpaths that criss-cross the surrounding region. There are also several excellent dining options both by the lakes and in nearby villages.
Every Major supermarket is accessible within a 15-20 minute drive in either Cirencester or Swindon.
Note: Windrush lake (our lake) is suitable for watersports such as kayaking or paddleboarding, but not for swimming.
