This quiet residential property, rated 4* by the Zermatt Tourist Office, is located less than 5 minutes walk from the Klein Matterhorn departure station which gives access to the entire Zermatt ski area and Cervinia, Italy. Going towards the village, you will reach the church and the Bahnhofstrasse in 5 minutes, as well as many excellent restaurants, aprĂšs ski spots, a bakery, grocery, wine shop, ski schools and rentals and the Alpine Centre.

The apartment was really quite cozy and just a stones throw from the lifts. We all took our morning coffee on the balcony and enjoyed the view of town and the Matterhorn, delightful! The host was very helpful and extremely approachable and we experienced no glitches. Would highly recommend this location to friends and family.

Excellent Apartment in Zermatt

Lovely apartment, good size for the family. Excellent lounge area and separate kitchen and everything we needed for our stay. For us, the location was the final icing on the cake. 100m from the Matterhorn express and 150m from our favourite bar. All in all win win.

Haus Gornerwald Zermatt

Nice comfortable clean and spacious apartment only a few steps away from the Furi-cablecar. Everything you need is there. Only the 40 steps to the entrance of Gornerwald are in a questionable state and a bit slippery. Highly recommended apartment .

Great location. We enjoyed our stay.

The location of this condo is great - close to the lift and to town. We could walk everywhere. There are about 25 steps up to the entrance door which I wasn’t expecting but we are in good shape so it wasn’t an issue. Overall it was smaller than I was expecting from the pictures, especially the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked though. We were disappointed the fireplace didn’t work but the heat was sufficient to keep us plenty warm. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful apartment close to Matterhorn Express

The property was spotless and very comfortable for our family of five. We had my ten year old sleep on a pull away cot in the family room which was comfortable. The kitchen though small is well stocked with cooking supplies and we cooked in three nights and made breakfast every morning. The views are spectacular and it’s a very short walk to the lift and not too long into town. Really great restaurants and groceries within minutes. The place was nicely decorated and felt like home. We made awesome memories there toasting the new year from the balcony as fireworks exploded over the town and lit up the mountains. Would highly recommend! Also, Nikki was super easy to communicate with.

Great property in Zermatt

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo. It has 2 bed rooms and served our family of 5 (2adults and 3 kids) well. The living room is spacious with a large TV. Kitchen and a washing machine are a plus. Condo is very clean and is actually nicer than the pictures on VRBO. It is a couple minutes walk to the Zermatt glacier gondola station and a rental ski shop. A storage for your skis is available on the first floor of the condo. A 5 minute taxi or 15 minute walk from the Zermatt station, where you can enjoy shopping and eating out. Would definitely consider returning to this place on our next visit.

schöne gemĂŒtliche Wohnung

Die Wohnung hat einen grossen Balkon, von welchem man sehr gut das Dorf Zermatt sieht. Die Wohnung ist gross genug fĂŒr 4 Erwachsene. Die Lage ist super um schnell bei der Bergbahn - Schwarzsee zu sein. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind innerhalb von 7-10 Min. zu Fuss erreichbar. Wir können die Wohnung auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Perfect location

The apartement of Ann is the perfect location for a stay in Zermatt. Cozy, well equipped, clean and very close to the cable car to Matterhorn Paradise and Riffelberg. We enjoyed the warm welcome with flowers, a bottle of wine, coffee and lots of candles very much. We only missed a hairdreyer.

Very nice appartment with plenty of space and a spectacular view

From other experiences in Switzerland before, I expected the appartment to be rather small and was very positively surprised. It is nice and spacious for four people with seperate bedrooms and bathrooms, a big and cozy living room and a seperate dining area. The Kitchen is not that big, but very well equiped with everything needed, including a big fridge and a dishwasher. I loved the huge balcony with a great view of the Matterhorn on one side and Zermatt on the other side. The house is very close to the main lift, so there is no need to ride the skibus. The main road with most shopping and restaurants is a 5 minute walk and there are some bars, restaurants and a kiosk even closer. There are no dryers for the skiboots in the skiroom, but we had our own anyway. The room is well ventilated and it might do, but I like to have warm boots in the morning. Communication with Ann was always easy and pleasant and she was very helpfull and accommodating before and during our stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Zermatt. Anns appartment will definitely be our first choice when we return.

Appartement spacieux, bien agencé à 3 minutes des remontées.

Nous avons eu beaucoup de plaisir à séjourner dans cet appartement, idéal pour 4 personnes. Les piÚces sont spacieuses, bien agencées, il a tout le matériel nécessaire, la literie est confortable et l'emplacement est idéal à 3 minutes à pied du départ de Furi. Le centre n'est qu'à 8-10 minutes à pied. La procédure de check-in et check-out est trÚs simple. A recommander.

Magnifique séjour à Zermatt

Appartement trÚs confortable, bien équipé et surtout trÚs bien placé (5min à pied des télécabines et à 8min du centre du village). Vue sur le Cervin depuis les fauteuils du salon - Top ! Literies confortables. Bémol : placards défraßchis et abimés (il pourrait en avoir moins de meilleur qualité) , sÚche-cheveux qui date, bouches de ventilation empoussierées , rideaux non opaques et faux- bois dans la cheminée

Perfect in every way

Ann was the most gracious and wonderful host. Her recommendations were excellent and she made herself more than available during our stay. The apartment is in the most ideal location. It’s is a 5 minute walk to the lift and 10-15 min walk to restaurants, shops, aprùs-ski and the rest of the village. The views are spectacular, we enjoyed a few evenings cooking in the well equipped kitchen and just relaxing with games and movies in the large living room. You will absolutely love this place!!

We have been going to Zermatt for over 20 years and have definitely fallen under its spell. The mighty Matterhorn towering above the little village can leave no one indifferent. Anna and Nicki's late mother bought the property in 2003 and managed it up until she died in 2022. Nicki now manages the property along with her army of helpers based in Zermatt.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Gornerwald property was acquired in 2003 when the estate agent told us of a proposal to build a lift from Furi to Riffelberg. This effectively was the missing link to connect up the whole area in both directions from the departure station of the Matterhorn Express, which is just 100 meters from the apartment.
