Cosy Greek village house. 5 min drive to beach. Quiet and off the tourist trail.

We are always pleased of course when guests enjoy our holiday home as much as we do, thanks. Translation : We, a family of four with teenagers, spent 2 very nice weeks here. It's an old house that has been lovingly renovated. The decor is good, like a holiday home. Everything worked, it was very clean, we didn't miss anything. In the 2 weeks of August it was sometimes very warm, but we enjoyed using the roof terrace in the mornings and evenings with a beautiful view of the surrounding area during the day and the starry sky at night. A large sun tarp is also stretched over the table. You can do small shopping for self-catering in the village. It is advisable to rent a small car at most, the streets are quite narrow, but there is a parking lot at the house. The landlady, Clare, was very nice and always easy to reach. Even before we arrived, she answered our questions quickly. On the day of arrival we were welcomed very kindly by her and guided through the streets to the house. We enjoyed our stay very much, we can recommend the house.

Translation: Very nicely furnished holiday house We spent a relaxing 10 days from the end of September and explored the island from here. The small markets in town are reached quickly on foot and have plenty of choice for a leisurely breakfast and occasional cooking meal. The directions and organization by Clare Lee were friendly, helpful and professional.

We enjoyed our stay in Malona - away from the mass tourism - and can highly recommend the "Fourno". We spent a week in early July on Rhodes and guest appearance at Fourno "Bakery" House. All details were correct and the booking, payment processing and e-mail communication with the owner was easy and welcoming. We were greeted by a beautifully decorated house in top condition and have a carefree week to spend in the small village of Malona. We had a wonderful holiday and the House Fourno would recommend 100%! Translation: We had a very good stay, in this beautiful house near the most beautiful beaches of Rhodes. Clare does everything to make your stay a smooth one. Remember to take the air conditioning because the temperatures are unbearable in August in Rhodes I agree mid summer is a hot business in Rhodes, to enjoy the island and all it has to offer, spring and autumn temperatures are easier to manage. Spring with it’s green fields and flowers is beautiful, and the Autumn for quieter beaches still and warmer swimming.

After 10 years of successful house renting we have been shocked and disappointed by our last 2 experiences this season ...we believe that there were some other forces involved that led these visitors to think that if they left without any communication and then complained enough, that they would receive a refund. In the face of all our other great reviews we trust that our future guests will see past what this is. Please find here our response at the time to these guests.... We are disappointed to hear that you found the house below your expected standard. We have just completed our 10th year renting this house and have had great reviews from all our guests this year so far, so I am a little confused to be honest. Regina has been caring for my house for the last 5 years, and works as a cleaner at a 5 star hotel in Kalathos, and I have complete confidence in her work and have not had complaints of this nature in this house before. So that you know, - The sheets and towels were all new last year along with new toppers and mattress protectors and some pillows too. - I would have been happy to have the house recleaned at my expense for you with attention to your concerns. - There is a netting shade on the terrace of the house to offer some shade and we would have happily moved over the sun umbrella from the next doors house if you had asked. - The steps up to the terrace are very clearly pictured in the photos. As you didn’t find that suitable, we could have offered you next door which has a more regular staircase leading up to the terrace. - In our advert there is no Satellite Tv on offer. It is purely local Greek channels, but we supply a whole array of DVDs for peoples use instead. To be honest we find people stream their own TV these days via their devices. We are troubled and a little saddened by your early departure, and do wonder if you were offered something else at this late stage in the season with some encouragement of a refund from us. After the Thomas Cook collapse I am to understand there is a lot of redundant accommodation in the area. Unfortunately we will not be issuing you a refund as you neither contacted myself or my local house keeper to allow us to attempt to rectify your complaints. If you left after one night then it has also taken you a further night to tell us of your departure. We could have offered you the Big house next door at no extra charge for instance and I would have been perfectly happy to have had that cleaned for you. We wish you a pleasant end to your holiday regardless, and we can still be happy to prepare the other house for you if you so wish.

We are so pleased you had such an enjoyable experience and look forward to welcoming you back another time. It’s such a great place to completely detach from the world and it’s stresses, we love it too of course.

The house is treated and well cleaned in between guests. These issues can occasionally arise living on the edge of olives and orange groves country when food is left out to tempt our local wildlife in. Pleased you liked the house, we love it.

Beautiful house in a pretty typical Greek village Very nice house, outside and inside, with in particular the big arcade in the living room, located in a pretty village with narrow alleyways. A mini market is a 2-3 minute walk where you can buy bread delivered in the morning by the baker. From the roof terrace you can see the church and the mountains behind. The stairs leading to the terrace are quite steep. Thank you, I’m pleased you enjoyed your holiday, the house and the village. Yes you are right, the stairs go up over 4 meters to the second floor and terrace, and the turn in particular is steep. For this reason there is another double bed downstairs for those who find the stairs difficult. 👍

Yes exactly, a great location for easily exploring the commercial north, the wild south, the long sandy beaches of the East, and the castles in the west with glorious views and sunsets, all within a 5 to 45 minute drive. We aim to make the house welcoming and with everything you could possibly want, it's always good to hear that's how it feels.

So pleased you enjoyed yourself so much, we and the kids thoroughly enjoyed our time with you too. The whole pottering about between the 2 houses was great fun, I often imagine it is a perfect 2 -3 family holiday with plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. We look forward to seeing you again.
