Second time is as great as the first

This is the second time we have stayed at this villa. The property and view are so beautiful! The view of the ocean from the beautiful deck can't be beat and the sound of the rolling waves 24/7 never gets old! The villa is laid out perfectly with the bedrooms on the second floor and living space on ground level. The staff are so helpful, they helped us plan all of our adventures and car rental. Highly recommend this place whether it's with family like our first visit or friends like our second visit, everyone had a great time.

Beautiful Property

This property exceeded our expectations. It was perfect being close to the pool and beach with kids. You can’t beat the view from the patio. We were well taken care of by the staff, who assisted in booking excursions and getting us rides as we didn’t rent a car.

Absolutely wonderful

I can't recommend this Villa enough for your vacation. Extremely convenient to the beach and the clubhouse/restaurant/pool next door. Short drive to Coco beach, not much further to Playa Hermosa. Very attentive staff, and great communication from the owner of this villa. Highly recommended.

A Slice of Paradise

Bahia Pez Vela is a beautiful resort, and Villa Mariposa was as much as we ever expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and the excursion opportunities in the area. Cesar and his team were very helpful and accommodating, and we can't say enough good things about how we were treated. Also the food at Soluna was excellent. Overall, we give our experience a "10". We would love to come back some time.

Great property!

We loved the location right on the beach - our kids (5,7 and 9) were able to run down in the mornings and play - my husband and I could watch from the deck. The home was clean and comfortable. And being right next to the beach club was so convenient. We would return!

Absolutely Stunning View

House was lovely, clean and well appointed. The patio is comfy and has such an amazing view you will not want to be inside. Just a few steps away from the secluded black sand beach. The on site restaurant serves delicious food, has a nice ambiance and wonderful customer service. We will most certainly be returning.

We had a wonderful week at Villa #10, at Bahia Pez Vela Resort. The location, steps from both the striking black sand beach and the resort’s pools and charming restaurant, was ideal. The resort has a friendly family oriented feel. Our hosts Alvin and Carolanne were exceptionally helpful and responsive. Snorkelling right off the beach was very enjoyable. We would heartily recommend Villa #10….and hope to return ourselves!

Even better than the pictures

Beautiful villa on a quiet cove, adjacent to a lovely beach club. The beachfront views were stunning! The villa was equipped with comfortable furniture inside and out, a well-stocked kitchen, and all the supplies you might need for swimming and beach play. All staff onsite were friendly and helpful, and the Villa owner was an exceptional communicator, setting us up for a hassle-free vacation. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing memories made

We had an amazing experience! We came with our 2 daughters, 20 and 15, and everyone had plenty of space. The villa was very clean with plenty of towels and linens. The kitchen had plenty of space and everything you needed to cook. It was close to the nearby town for shopping and restaurants. We did several excursions and had transportation provided that picked us up at our villa. We would recommend this villa 100%!

Amazing stay! Would definitely stay again.

This is an absolutely beautiful home. The beach was lovely. We swam in the ocean every day. The home owners made the stay as easy as could be. They provided lists of nearby activities, put us in contact with drivers, car rentals, anything we needed. We booked a fishing excursion through Cesar in the office. It was so easy and the boat picked us up right on the beach! The home is equipped with everything you need. Water floaties, containers for your left overs, soaps and shampoos, etc. I could go on. You simply can't go wrong renting this villa!

Absolutely fantastic

The most beautiful villa with the best views steps from the beach and pool. Lovely spacious villa with everything you need to feel at home. And the terrace is amazing, morning coffee was always an inspirational experience. There is a restaurant on site for lunch and dinner and for afternoon cocktails by the pool the staff is very gracious. Our hosts Carol Ann and Alvin are exceptional people so friendly and welcoming and i truly enjoyed getting to know them If you’re looking for a paradise getaway it would be hard to beat this place.

Incredible property, great location

We had the pleasure of spending one week in Villa 10. It has the most beautiful views of the ocean, and the beautiful and quiet black sand beach. The Villa is beside the lovely and clean pool, and the restaurant, yet still very private. The home is appointed with everything you could need, and we enjoyed preparing some of our own meals, while also having the convenience of the on-site restaurant, and many more great restaurants a short drive away. The owners, and Al in particular who we communicated with, were wonderful and quick to respond to any questions leading up to our stay, and helpful in arranging rental vehicles and provided a lot of information and suggestions for what to see and do in the area. Overall incredible, and we are already thinking about a return visit!

So clean, interior even nicer than pictures. The view is gorgeous. I think this unit is the best location on the entire property, tucked away yet steps to the pool and restaurant and the beach. Black sand beach is unique and pretty. Food and drinks, like most reviews indicate was fantastic and we ended up not cooking at all! The office staff and all service staff so friendly, fun and accommodating. Father Roosters very good and fun restaurant too. Owner communication excellent. Highly recommend.

Incredible black sand beachfront home

Our family stayed a week at Bahia Pez Vela - Villa 10. The owner sent wonderful comprehensive instructions to facilitate our arrival into the country and the home. The home had everything we needed and so much more. We cooked several meals at home and the kitchen was amply stocked. The living room, kitchen, and dining area had a wonderful open floor plan allowing us to enjoy time together with family and had wonderful touches for the Christmas season. The bed rooms were spacious and had wonderful air conditioning. The bathrooms had bath gel, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner and plenty of towels, including beach towels. The whole staff was incredible but a special thanks to our bartender, Kevin. Special shout out to our two favorites restaurants: 1) Soluna/ AOI sushi at the resort - spectacular drinks (especially recommend the red tide and the spicy green margarita) and food (especially enjoyed the sushi, and traditional Costa Rican dishes), 2) Sugoi Asian Mexican restaurant - solid across the board. We took several days trips, including Rincón de la Vieja national park, boat trip to Witches rock/ Santa Rosa national park, Diamonte eco adventure park, and multiple beaches (tamarindo, grande, coco, flamingo, hermosa were just some of the high points). We could have easily spent the week just enjoying the pool/ activities at the resort. The black sand beach at the resort was definitely one of our favorites. Couldn’t ask for more

From the get go the villa owner and the resort management made the process simple and helpful. The villa right on the beach,, steps to private quaint beach and resort pool and restaurant. Must drive to get anywhere else but like the other reviews say, Coco beach (larger but no overly populated) is 3 miles away. You can certainly walk or bike, the locals do, just be warned it’s basically Marshall law ;) This only adds to the experiment though! We have been all over the world and this was one of our top vacations by far! Definitely a 10!

Beautiful!!! Perfect Location!

Our family of 7 loved this villa! It was our favorite of the 3 places we stayed. The description is perfectly accurate. It is just steps to the beach, pool and a surprisingly wonderful restaurant. The view is amazing, the grounds are incredible, the water is calm and the sand is black and powdery. We snorkeled off the beach and saw a few tropical fish. The kids loved looking at all the crabs in the beach at night. They really thought of everything. There were beach chairs and sand toys, lots of seating on the patio, everything we needed in the kitchen, tons of towels and extra blankets, and even a few puzzles and games. Check in and out was a breeze and the place was perfectly clean and ready to go when we arrived. We definitely recommend this villa to everyone!

The property was in a gorgeous beachfront location. Check in and out was easy, villa was well appointed, had everything you might need to visit any beaches, coolers, beach towels, etc. Owners put up Christmas tree for us and we had such a wonderful vacation, would definitely book again. Rooms and bed were comfortable, full kitchen and amenities, beautiful dining room area, comfortable lanai facing beach. Maracuya beach club right next door. Our family of 6 had a wonderful Christmas vacation here. Location was close to Los Cocos area, shopping, beaches, supermarkets, and lots of restaurants and souvenir shops as well as excursions. Diamante Eco Adventure Park was 1 hr and 20 min away, Playas del Coco and its malecon (boardwalk), just 10 min away and Marina Del Rey for Catamaron tours has a destination from Playas del Coco also. Playa Hermosa just 20 min away, Llanos del Cortez waterall just 1 hr and half away. Owners were super helpful with our questions and making sure we had everything we needed. Loved our first Costa Rican vacation.

Wonderful family vacation!!

We just returned from the most amazing week at this resort. We are from the midwest United States and it was our first time in CR. After a long travel day we quickly realized it was completely worth it! This villa is beautiful, clean, well stocked and perfectly located near the pool and steps to the beach. We will miss our morning coffee on the patio listening to the waves. We have three kids, ages 15, 13 and 9. They became fast friends with Cesar and Michael at the Maracuya restaurant. The food and service were so good that we stayed and ate dinner at Maracuya at least 4 times. We also went to Father Roosters which was fun as well. We were treated so well by everyone at the resort and also appreciated the security staff that was always around and watching over the resort, not that we ever had anything to feel concerned about. Our family was very sad to leave this beautiful private beach, pristine beautiful pool and clean, spacious villa. Thank you Al and everyone at Bahia Pez Vela for the vacation of a lifetime.

Perfect gem of a place!

Our family of 5 stayed here for 8 days in June. Before booking, I had looked at so many different places but I'm SO incredibly glad we booked this one. The setting is truly the prettiest beach we visited and we went all over Northwest Costa Rica on our trip. The view from the deck is breathtaking, and the space was perfect for our family of five. The pictures of the condo don't do it justice - it is just gorgeous inside and out. We had coffee on the deck each morning, had a clear view down to the beach where our kids swam daily, and fell asleep each night to the sounds of the ocean. We visited during the off-season, so the beach and pool steps away felt private for us. We had several meals at the restaurant next door and every single dish was delicious. Eating there can get a little costly for a family of five, so we were so happy to have the full kitchen in the villa stocked with everything we needed to make our own meals. Al was so helpful with his communication before and during our stay. He helped me set up airport transportation and connected me with Marbely in the restaurant to set up a special dinner for my husband for Father's Day. He answered all my questions quickly. He also helped us get a rental car delivered to the villa, which I'm glad we did on this first trip to better see the area (although Cesar will help set up excursions that pick you up right outside the condo.) This is just a perfect gem of a place for your Costa Rican vacation.
