We love Villa Margi! As per our last visit a couple of years ago, everything was perfect. In fact it was even better as the pool has been upgraded and so have the bathrooms. Would always recommend x

Magnificent Views

The Villa accommodated 4 couples easily without having to share bedrooms or bathrooms. The beds were comfy and warm. The terrace and pool area was directly over the Bay of Naples with picturesque views of rocky cliffs to one side and Pompeii on the other side. Pompeii at night sparkled with lights. Margi and her daughter were accommodating and easy to get in communications with when we needed them. Margi made us a fabulous dinner on our last night that was authentic and wonderful.. We hope to see Margi again!

Outstanding Property

Three of us stayed for a week at Villa Margi. The Villa is amazing! Lots of room, comfortable, and the views are unparalleled. We made day trips to Pompei, Sorrento, Positano and Capri. It was also nice to spend a quiet day enjoying the Villa and the pool. I highly recommend a private dinner prepared by Margi and her skillful staff. Margi is a lovely person. We enjoyed spending time with her, learning about her life and the area. We would definitely return! Ellen

The magic of Villa Margi

From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with hellos and welcome. Our two week stay was filled with swimming, hiking, touring the Amalfi Coast, and great dinners prepared by our host, Margi. The sound of the waves greeted us every morning as we sipped coffees on our terraces with Naples in the background. Vico Equence is a wonderful town and filled with lots of shops and foods. We enjoyed our pizza experience at Metro and we ate left over pizza for several days. Again, magic in every aspect of our stay. The architecture, the art books, the touring books, all made for gentle evenings in our villa. Be sure to book this villa. Magic, indeed.

Traumlage

Wir, vier Ehepaare, haben uns in der Villa total wohlgefühlt. Die Lage ist, wie schon vielfach erwähnt, einfach traumhaft. Der Blick auf den Golf von Neapel, die großzügige Raumaufteilung und die freundliche und hilfsbereite Hausdame haben zum Wohlbefinden beigetragen.

Séjour parfait dans une Villa Margi exceptionnelle

La Villa Margi est un lieu absolument remarquable : située sur un promontoire, une grande terrasse avec vue à 180° sur la baie de Naples : le Vésuve et Naples sur la droite, la presqu’ile de Sorrente à gauche, les couchers de soleil au milieu…5 étoiles – inoubliable ! Un intérieur très spacieux pour notre famille de 9 personnes, confortable et bien équipé, avec une décoration très raffinée et de grande qualité (on se croit dans un film « Dolce Vita »). Si vous louez une voiture, prendre un modèle compact car l’accès est pentu, étroit et avec deux virages en épingle à cheveux. La vue sur la baie en altitude se mérite ! Un accueil très chaleureux et sympathique par la propriétaire (Margi) qui a été très prévenante et réactive à nos demandes. Franchement notre meilleure expérience de location de vacances à ce jour. Localisation idéale pour explorer la cote amalfitaine, la presqu’ile de Sorrente, Capri, le Vésuve et Pompéi... Plusieurs commerces de bouche et restaurants à Vico Equense…

Perfection near Sorrento

Our group of 7 just returned from a spectacular week at Villa Margi. We drove from Naples to the villa where we received a welcome from our lovely host, Margi. The drive up the hill from the main road was a bit challenging, but became easier with practice. The house is lovely -- elegant yet casual, with plenty of space to spread out together or be apart. The 4 bedrooms were all perfectly adequate with comfortable beds and typical European bathrooms (handheld showers & smallish shower stalls). We had plenty of hot water for our large group. The living room and dining room are enormous, with tons of windows and natural light, very high ceilings, and comfortable seating. The kitchen is very well stocked with plenty of dishware, silverware, glassware, cookware, etc., and there is a breakfast table as well. The patio areas are breathtaking. We spent most of our time relaxing outside and watching the boats go by. Sunsets every night were spectacular -- we couldn't bring ourselves to dine out in town as we didn't want to miss the sunset, so we cooked all of our dinners there. The patios have plenty of lounge chairs & regular patio chairs for quite a crowd. We didn't use the swimming pool, which is smaller than it looks in the photos, but certainly large enough to cool off and splash around on a hot day. Getting into Vico Equense was difficult without a car, so we are glad we rented one. The walk downhill and by road is pretty nerve wracking, as there is little sidewalk and lots of fast moving cars. There is a path above the house that takes you to Vico – It's about a 25 minute uphill + downhill walk. It was fine, but I wouldn't have wanted to do it every day or with groceries. I would definitely recommend renting a car. The drive from Naples was easy, and we stopped & visited Herculaneum along the way. The villa is in a perfect location for visiting nearby sites. We spent time in the next town over (Castellammare di Stabia), with a lovely harbor and many nice waterfront restaurants as well as a funicular to the top of Mount Faito. There are also very interesting ruins of Roman villas in town. We visited Scavi di Stabia which was very interesting and free to visit. We shopped at the LIDL grocery store there as well -- it is large and well stocked. As far as I'm concerned, there is nowhere better to stay on the Sorrento peninsula. Villa Margi is a gem, & should I find myself in that part of Italy in the future that's where I would want to stay.

Villa Margi

Just Wow! We were a group of 10 and were wowed from the moment we walked in, normally the photos of a place outweigh the place itself, but not Villa Margi, the place is as spectacular as the views. Like others have mentioned the villa is located up a steep windy road so a car or the taxi service that Alex provides is very useful, we used Alex many times and he was always on time and reasonable in price .Margi herself is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, we had Margi prepare two meals for us that even my Italian parents loved (it’s hard to please an Italian mother), I would highly recommend taking advantage of her cooking, grazie Margi:) We did take a day trip on a private boat to Capri but that was the only day we left the villa otherwise there are two beaches nearby that are handy for a dip in the ocean, which we did occasionally. The small plunge pool was so nice to have to cool off after a hot day in the sun.If I had to pick anything to improve upon it would be the showers, they tended to block easily so keep it brief in there, Margi did say that this was something that they would be updating soon. Alll in all we had a great stay and can’t wait to return:) Tony Solimeno

A Gem Found in Vico Equense

Villa Margi is a stunning villa with breathtaking views. Margi greeted us as we arrived and had us tour the house with her. A very comfortable spacious villa with all the amenities. However, we found that the wifi was weak in much of the house but we were able to get by. The plunge pool was a welcomed relief from the hot July weather. We did not rent a car as there were 7 of us so we relied on Alex Taxi service but be aware that he is not interested in short fares but rather longer fares to such places as Naples and Sorrento. Two of our family members rented motorbikes and ferried us to the charming town of Vico Equense. At times we would walk the mile and a half to town which was manageable. Beaches are nearby and enjoyable. Everyone in our party was thrilled with the villa and Margi and her daughter Maria were most helpful and considerate. We hope to return sometime in the future.

Fa tastic views

My friends and I stayed at Villa Margi for a 60th birthday. Communication was excellent from the start. The positives: the house was clean, views were amazing and Margi did a wonderful job communicating with us through Taxi Alex (amazing guy!!) We were a group of 11 staying at the property and while there is enough bedspace there was some confusion at checkin. One of the bedrooms is also the only entrance and exit and that caused a bit of confusion. We struggled with that door every day. Margi was a great host bringing us pastries the first morning and catering a wonderful dinner for the birthday girl. The place could do with some updates in the bathrooms and the pool really is small. We could not use the water on our last day which threw us a bit. Hot water in the master was a daily adventure Garbage situation was a bit confusing but we got the hang of it after day 1. Some suggestions to have that explained thouroughly at check in to avoid confusion and have toilet paper available in each bathroom. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this place.

Spectacular Views

We had an amazing week at Margi's home! I was traveling with a friend and my daughter who has been studying abroad for the college semester, she had her roommates with her for a few days and there was more than enough space for all of us. The view was breathtaking. We enjoyed great weather, good wine, and much laughter during our time at Margi was very accommodating and made our stay quite enjoyable. The recommendation for Alex as a driver/taxi made the case of traveling to our excursions and to the train quite easy. I highly recommend Margis Villa if you want to stay at one of the most beautiful places in the area and make last memories.

Exceptionnelle villa Margi

Nous avons passé un séjour fabuleux. La villa Margi est magnifique, parfaitement équipée, la literie confortable, le tout d'une propreté irréprochable. La décoration est raffinée et la vue sur le Vésuve et la baie de Naples tout simplement époustouflante. Margi, nous a réservé un accueil chaleureux. Nous avions commandé le diner pour notre arrivée, nous nous sommes régalés de spécialités napolitaines faites maison. Encore merci pour ce séjour de rêve.

Une vue inoubliable sur la baie de Naples

La villa Margi, dont la vaste terrasse donnant directement sur la baie de Naples, le Vésuve et la péninsule sorrentine nous a valu d'inoubliables couchers de soleil, est un magnifique lieu de séjour. Nous avons apprécié tant la situation que les vastes espaces du salon et de la salle à manger. 4 chambres bénéficient d'une salle de bain, la dernière chambre, avec canapé-lit pour deux, est à l'entrée de la maison et on doit obligatoirement y passer pour sortir, ce qui ne nous a guère gênés, mais peut constituer un inconvénient. S'agissant d'une maison ancienne, certaines installations ont un fonctionnement un peu aléatoire (système électrique, wifi, écoulement des eaux de l'évier de la cuisine ou des douches), mais la propriétaire, signora Margi - que nous remercions pour son amabilité et sa réactivité - a toujours fait diligence pour les réparations, effectuées au plus tard le lendemain matin, y compris le dimanche. La cuisine est bien équipée et s'il manque quelque chose (verres à vin par exemple), la propriétaire y remédie rapidement. La région offre de larges possibilités d'excursions historiques (Pompéi, Herculanum, maison de Poppée à Torre Annuziata, qui a été un coup de coeur, Paestum), de balades à pied (grimpée au Monte Faito, Sentier des Dieux sur la côte amalfitaine ou arête descendant sur Punta Campanella à la pointe de la péninsule sorrentine), de visites de villes (Naples, Amalfi, Ravello - autre coup de coeur - ou Capri) et Vico Equense - à une demi-heure à pied par un petit sentier derrière la maison - présente un charme simple, mais authentique. Bref un séjour réussi, surtout que, vu la période de notre séjour (mois d'octobre), il n'y avait nulle nuée de touristes envahissant les lieux!

Beautiful Property!

I stayed at Villa Margi in September 2021 with 3 other friends. The villa was way bigger than what we needed after 2 other friends needed to cancel, but we were so happy we didn't cancel for a smaller property. The patio, pool, and sunsets could not be beat! Margi was so lovely and a great hostess. She also made us a lovely dinner and was there anytime we needed her - including ordering pizza delivery! Like many other quests, we used the services of Taxi Alex. Alessandro and Nello were excellent drivers, so friendly, great communicators, and the pricing was very reasonable. If I had any negative feedback it would only be that the garbage/recycling situation is crazy! This is not a negative reflection on the villa or Margi but we did have to spend a good amount of time thinking each night about what garbage needed to be left out. We were happy to recycle though - I think the town just has an intense pickup program!

Bellissima vacanza. Villa molto accogliente con una vista mozzafiato sul golfo di Napoli. Margi è stata una padrona di casa molto attenta e cordiale. La vista che si gode dalla terrazza, la sera al tramonto, è veramente unica e indimenticabile. Grazie

Amazing views, great location!

We all enjoyed a great 10 nights at Villa Margi! Margi was extremely helpful and cooked for us on our first night. The food was delicious! She also brought us pastries and milk on our first morning, which we were extremely grateful for. The villa is in a great central location, we visited Sorrento, Almalfi Coast, Positano, Capri, Pompeii, Naples and even Rome. We hired a Mercedes Vito Van as there were 6 of us, which was difficult to get up to the villa around the tight hairpin turns. The villa itself could do with some attention, we had a problem with ants in one of the bedrooms and on the balcony, the showers upstairs run hot and cold and some of the amenities could do with updating. The pool is much smaller than it looks but it was enough to cool down in when the temperature got too much. There are lots of nearby restaurants to eat in and a large Lidl 20 mins away to stock up, as the local stores don’t have much choice. Parking is extremely difficult in Vico Equense. Overall we all enjoyed our stay and Margi was always on hand to help with anything we needed.

Beautiful villa , fabulous location .

8 of us have just returned home after s week in this gorgeous villa . The location is out of this world . Photos don't do justice to the spectacular views , incredible. The villa was immaculate , bedrooms a good size , everything was what we wanted and more ! Margi the owner was very helpful ,and on our first full day cooked a lovely meal . She lived in another part of the premises , which was fine . We had the Fabulous Taxi driver Alex , recommended by Margi , he took us everywhere we wanted to go ,and was with us within 20 minutes .we didn't have transport so this was a great help . We have had a brilliant week , and would thoroughly recommend this villa without question , Thank you to Marius Elena ,Margi and Alex for our wonderful experience ! Susan .

Amazing week

This house is amazing - likely the best view of the ocean that you will find. Margi is a spectacular host. The pool is perfect and the interiors are beautiful. Air conditioning in rooms is solid. Location is a bit set away from the town, but there is a restaurant and store at the bottom of the hill below the villa that has most of what you will need. I would highly recommend a stay at Villa Margi. One thing to note when you arrive - the Villa is up the hill from Oasi, the restaurant I mention above. Have taxi drive you up the private drive to the right of the restaurant. The Villa is orange and you will have to walk 5 minutes to get there. Hill is very steep.

Villa Margi is a Once in a Lifetime Experience

A truly wonderful villa with jaw dropping panoramic sea views with the pretty coastal town of Vico Equense right across the Bay of Naples to Mount Vesuvius as a stunning back drop. We were holidaying as a family and friends group of 9 adults which the villa size caters for brilliantly. There is a plunge pool which enjoys the spectacular views as you cool off. We were celebrating my Wife's 50th Birthday and chose to have a catered meal on arrival at the villa which was a lovely and very special way to enjoy our first evening watching the glorious sunset from the amazing terraced balcony. Margi the proud owner couldn't be more welcoming and offered great insights on nearby restaurants and local shops. She was even kind enough to take us into Vico a couple of times to do our food and drink shopping at the Supermarket. Maria her daughter is also a fantastic asset in helping you in advance of your trip with any specific requests for airport transfers and booking trips or excursions. The villa itself is a perfect base to enjoy this beautiful part of Italy. Vico is only about a 20 minute walk where you can catch a train to Sorrento or Pompeii. Terramia and Titos are lovely places to eat, and Gabrielle for amazing Ice Cream in Vico, which itself is a charming little cliff top town. This was a very special family holiday where we wanted to create lifelong memories and staying at Villa Margi was certainly the most wonderful property and remarkable setting to ensure we achieved this.

Amazing View!

This villa offers a spectacular view that cannot be beaten! We loved how close it was to the ocean, as well as to other great sites - such as Pompeii and Capris. Our dinner on the first night, cooked by Margi, was delicious and will definitely not be forgotten! Thanks for such a memorable experience!

Paradiso!

My family (newly retired husband and wife), three children, twenty/thirty somethings and their partners, just returned from an amazing week in Vico Equense. Villa Margi is more beautiful in person than online. Margi wants everyone to feel welcome and she does! She took us to Vico when we needed groceries (we did not rent a car), ordered the BEST pizza to be delivered to us one night when the pizza shop did not answer our calls, brought us lovely biscotti on out first morning and trusted us with her very beautiful home. The views are beyond beautiful. From here we visited Amalfi, Positano, Capri and Herculaneum. Taxi Alex is AMAZING (see separate review) and we could not have done it without him. Thank you, Margi, from the bottom of our hearts, for a week in paradiso!!

Margi made the difference!

I stayed at this villa with my entire family. After booking my boyfriend and I decided to marry in Sorrento while we were there. We looked at local restaurants and decided we had the best view any place could offer! So we hired Margi to cook for our reception on the balcony. She exceeded our expectations! It was lovely!! Thank you MARGI! I am one happy bride.
