We are surprised and sorry about this experience. Our cleaners started in September and to date have consistently scored highly in reviews. We sent our house keepers immediately after I got your message. Clearly there have been problems here and we are taking steps to ensure they are put right. It may have been useful to allow the cleaner entry after her 45 minute drive to view the problems so that they could be verified and corrected right away. Nevertheless we are grateful that these have been bought to our attention so that we can be sure they do not reoccur. Please see the response from our housekeepers as below: QT I just wanted to add the following comments if you think they’d be helpful, or if not, at the very least I wanted yourself and Stephen to see them: Attached picture of yellow toilet duck. This is what was in the toilet, and not urine that was “toxic and been there a while”. We usually use the green toilet duck which has an alpine aroma, and will leave some in the bowl after cleaning because it makes the bathroom smell nice, but on this occasion it had been substituted for an alternative which although still smells nice (lemon) has obviously been mistaken by the guest for urine. The very fact that they have said on multiple occasions how bad this “urine” has made the bathroom smell, should be an instant indicator as to the trustworthiness of these guests in my opinion… The guest was quite nasty to me and swore at me too, using the F word. She said if clean bedding had been available at the house then it would have saved me the “f’ing 45 minute drive”. What she doesn’t understand is that we remove the dirty bedding each time we come and clean, and replace it with clean bedding, before taking the dirty bedding back home to wash / dry and iron. It’s a revolving process and so that’s why there were no sheets there for her to use herself The marks on the bed that she was insinuating meant the bed hadn’t been cleaned were ridiculous if I’m totally honest. It was a small black line towards the bottom of the duvet cover, similar to as if the cover had rubbed against something dusty. She had to angle the cover in a certain way to be able to show me the mark and by no means was it as “disgusting and gross” as she implied. She also said that my sheets “smelt of nothing” when I encouraged her to smell them, and I know this is a lie because everyone comments on how lovely my sheets smell. I’m unable to comment on the other issues she mentioned
