Last minute amazing getaway

We booked this property last minutes. It was a very smooth transaction, and checking in was seamless. The location of this unit was unbeatable. After many years of vacationing in 30a, this was one of the best. If you have small children, the access to pool and beach is very convenient. The unit has not been recently updated, but it was fine, and we will book it again without a de one thought. Also, convenient to restaurants and attractions.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Another great beach vacation in our favorite spot!

We were so thankful the condo was ready for check in before expected. It is so convenient for our young family to be close to the pool and within minutes of the beach. There are so many great shops or restaurants within walking or biking distance. This was our 3rd time staying in this particular condo, and it is the perfect place for us!

Excellent

Staying on the bottom floor, near the pool, was the ultimate convenience with two babies! The property has been updated which was a nice surprise after booking when seeing the older pictures on VRBO. Easy to book! Beautiful location! We love staying at Gulf Place and the nearby shops and restaurants within walking distance make the stay wonderful!

Great location!

We really enjoyed the location to the pool and beach access. The property is centrally located to restaurants. The only downside of the rental was the master bed was extremely uncomfortable- so much so that my husband and I took turns sleeping in the bunk beds. Desperate need of a new mattress!

Great location but condo needs some TLC

Stay in 30a area several times a year, the location of this condo in relation to restaurants, shopping, pool and beach access is great, the condo itself is in poor condition, our kids could not sleep on the top bunk because of the side rail broken, dishwasher was not working, poor WiFi, during the storm with young children wanting to watch tv proved to be challenging due to the streaming service being slow to download, only 1 remote for the 2 very small televisions, would not be an issue if not for our young ones. On a positive was the kitchen had everything you need if cooking yourself.

Responsive property management

There were a couple things out of sorts (loose railing on a bunk bed) when we arrived late on a Saturday. I called Sunday morning to notify the property management and they had maintenance come and resolve the items that day. No worries, no fuss, just a great job owning the issue and resolving it.

Wonderful!

This is our 3rd time staying at this property. We love the convenient access to the pool especially with toddlers. The property was clean. Some of the outlets do not hold the cords or work, so check the outlet before you think you're charging something. The rental chair companies are taking over the beach access that is available to Gulf Place and "have the right to move directly in front of you per their contract with Gulf Place". If this is the case, I believe Gulf Place properties should include the beach chair rentals in the rental agreement. We love staying here though, and we're already looking forward to next year's vacation.

Needs an update

My family and I have been staying in this area for years. We love the area. However, this condo is in serious need of better maintenance and a good update. The WIFI did not work, 3 of 4 light bulbs were blown in the bathroom, there was 1 Kitchen trash bag provided, there was not sufficient covers for the bunk beds, the door near the pool was almost impossible to open, the floor tile looked dirty and was cracked, the other flooring was outdated and poorly installed with cracks everywhere, the kitchen cabinets were literally falling apart. Some positives... most of the furniture was nice, the king size bed was comfortable, the proximity to the pool was perfect for my young family. The beach is fabulous. The pool is nice.

However, we are sorry to hear that your stay with us was anything less then perfect. We received a call from you the day after you checked-in about the WIFI and some light bulbs. We reset the internet and changed the lightbulbs immediately. Had we known that you needed more blankets or help with the back door, we would have addressed it immediately. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, we only provide starter amenities for our rentals which is noted in our reservation confirmation email attachment “Preparing for your Dune Allen Realty Vacation”. Starter amenities are provided by most vacation rental companies. However, if requested we are more then happy to provide additional amenities until you are able to get to the store. Despite the above, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to have you back again soon!

Delightful!

This is our second year staying at this property. We love the convenience of it having direct access to the pool and being on the bottom floor especially with two toddlers. This area is filled with local shops and restaurants that make the vacation absolutely delightful! Everything is so close! About the condo... The bed is comfortable. The dining table is nice for the family. The space in the living area is nice to have for children. I do believe there are some updates that could be made to the rental. The top of the outlets would not hold anything, so it would keep the Internet, TV, and anything charging from working properly. It would be nice to have room in the bottom of the closet for shoes and such. The bottom was filled with bags of sheets and comforters. It would also be nice to have a little space in the cabinets of the kitchen to store food for the week instead of having to use the counter space. Again, this is our second year staying in this unit and besides a few updates, it is very nice and convenient. We love this location and plan on staying again!

Bring your own TP

We love Santa Rosa, and we've stayed at Gulf Place many times. Always in the Cabana building, and always a great stay. This was the first time staying in the Caribbean building. I've never had to leave a negative review, but needed to say a few things about this unit. This unit is managed by a company, and it was not a great experience. The listing said Check in after 5:00 p.m. (which seemed very late), and check out by 9:00 a.m. (seemed very early). Our first night there the toilet backed up which I had to plunge. A piece of the ceiling fell on my daughter's head while she was in the shower, and the tub took 10 minutes to drain. I opened the drain to find it completely plugged with hair which I had to clean out myself. It was absolutely disgusting! I emailed the company to tell them about this and also that there was no dish soap, and I got no response. I then emailed again to tell them that there were some bulbs out and asked if they managed the unit above because the guests were so loud! They came to replace the bulbs, but still no response to my emails. I emailed them a third time to ask for more toilet paper. They left me a voice mail saying that they only provide the first roll which was already partially used. So 5 nights, 4 guests they gave us one roll of tp that was not even new. She did say they talked to the guests above and asked them to try to not be so loud but it didn't do anything. The day before we were supposed to check out I called the office to ask for an 11:00 am check out. She said "sorry, we can't". I then told her that I was the one who cleaned the disgusting drain of other people's hair and didn't even get a response from them apologizing, or even a thank you. I said that we paid a lot of money to stay there and cleaning the drain was not what i paid for. Told her i saved them a visit from a plumber, so maybe they could show some good faith for that and give us an 11:00 check out instead of 9:00. She said check out was 10:00 then put me on hold. Came back to say "sorry, we can't do 11:00, it's a turnover day. 10:00 check out". I was very surprised that they didn't accommodate us after what I had to do with the tub. We left the place by 10:00 and went to the beach for a few hours. At 1:00 p.m. we were packing up to head home, and I was curious to see if they cleaned the unit. I looked inside at 1:00 p.m. and it was NOT cleaned yet. 3 hours after we checked out! Not great customer service.

First and foremost, we want to thank you for staying with us and are so pleased to hear about how much you love this area. We also thank you SO much for taking the time to leave such a detailed and thoughtful review. As the premier property manager for this area, we are always searching for ways to improve our guest’s experience, and we take helpful reviews like yours to heart. While we apologize that this particular stay was anything less than extraordinary, we do want to take a moment to address some comments we feel may be inaccurate or misleading. Regarding the check-in and check-out time— during the busy summer season, providing a late check-out is quite frankly nearly impossible. Since someone is checking in that evening, our staff requires a full day to clean each unit thoroughly before a new guest arrives. Normal check-out is 9 AM and we were able to provide you with a 10 AM check-out, but could not go any later than that. (And please note: our housekeepers often enter units to collect things like bedding and towels to wash off-site. Just because they were not on site and the unit looked “not clean” to you does not mean that cleaning had not started.) For the clogged drain, we apologize that your emails seem to have gone unanswered. We’re not quite sure why that happened, and we request in the future that a phone call to our office (888-267-2121) would be a better channel for communication regarding maintenance issues such as this. (Emails can annoyingly end up in the spam folder for no reason, as we all know!) Our dedicated maintenance staff is available 24/7 and would have been there in minutes to take care of that for you. Also, the phrase used that the ceiling was “falling down” is a bit of an exaggeration. Prior to your arrival, the unit above you had had a small water leak which caused a patch of the popcorn ceiling below to flake off. A repair had been scheduled for shortly after your stay. As for the supplies like toilet paper and paper towels, the detailed rental contract that you signed clearly states that guests should bring their own supply of certain toiletry items if they are staying for multiple days. And finally, for the guests staying on the floor above you who were too loud. That family did have small children who were quite excited to be at the beach. Those particular guests had booked with a different management company (not us) and we did our best to contact the HOA to see if they could be quieter. We recommend that if complete quiet is a high priority for you, perhaps you should consider a private home instead of a multi-unit condo community. It’s ok - have stayed at gulf place 3x now and would not choose this unit again

Property needs updating bad! Not enough towels left for the kitchen or the bath- The dryer quit working 2nd day in and was not fixed before we left. The vinyl flooring is separating everywhere- Cookware and utensils could be better The master bed needs updating The blinds on the patio were broken and the patio door needs to be replaced and I think the handle is on backwards - I don’t think it would take much if someone really wanted to get in.

Great location! Off Hwy 98, but easily accessible to everything.

The property was very basic and could use a coat of paint inside, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We loved staying at Gulf Place and found it was close to so much. The pool was across the patio and it was wonderful with kids. The unit was well stocked with everything we needed. The first day we had trouble with the wireless, but maintenance sent someone right over and we were able to get connected. A previous guest had done a factory reset on the router and it was listed under a different name. We enjoyed our stay so much we are conisdering returning in October.

The condo was mediocre. Some things were broken and the bathroom sink was terribly clogged.

The location is great but I wouldn't rent that specific condo again.

Great value for a great location.

This is a great value for a property with beach access literally across the street. The condo comfortably sleeps 4 and had everything you might need in the kitchen. Several restaurants, ice cream parlors, coffee shops, etc. are within walking distance as well.
