You get the best of several worlds with this neighborhood – London and the countryside are easily accessible here!
It is a quintessential London 'village': quiet, mainly residential with some lovely ancient woodland walks, that nevertheless has brilliant connections to London with London Bridge, Southbank, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, and Waterloo, all between 15 and 25 minutes away by train. Although the property is in a quiet residential cul-de-sac, the station is a mere few minutes walk away, as are food shops, well-loved fish and chips, down-to-earth neighborhood cafes, and a popular pizza place.
Also, a walk away is Henry VIII's favorite childhood stomping grounds: the English Heritage site Eltham Palace with a lovely café and celebrated gardens and interiors, and Eltham, which has an array of high street shops such as WHSmiths, Boots, Marks, and Spencer, as well as a cinema and several chain and independent restaurants.
A short drive or a bus ride to the many restaurants and pubs, national trust walks and nature reserve, and a Sunday market at Chislehurst.
A similar distance away, but in the opposite directions, lies Blackheath as well as world-famous Greenwich with its many attractions, including a market, the Cutty Sark, the Observatory, the royal park, many chain and independent restaurants, cafes, and pubs along the river Thames.
If you like your sports, there are football fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, cycling routes, and green chain walks, all within walking distance, as well as a few playgrounds to amuse the little ones! Also, a short distance away are a golf club, driving range, crazy golf, squash courts, etc.
If it's serious shopping you are after, Bluewater – one of the biggest shopping centers in Europe – is 20 minutes drive away or a train ride, and of course, all the shops in London are also a short train ride away in the opposite direction!
Kent, the garden of England, is on your doorstep,, with a motorway a few minutes away and trains that take you into historic towns such as Canterbury, celebrated beaches at Whitstable and Broadstairs,, and heritage towns like Sandwich.
The train station is a few minutes walk away with regular trains into Charing Cross, Waterloo, London Bridge, and Cannon Street. The property is also well connected to the docklands, Canary Wharf, and the O2 with one train change and bus routes. Several local and beyond buses are available at your doorstep with good frequency connections.
