Amazing location close to the mall and other shopping centers. Host was so communicative and friendly! Loved the space and rooms were very comfortable. Such a perfect place for those with families or those with partners that enjoy a getaway. The amenities are great and we appreciated the access to all. Highly recommend staying here, and again the host was a sweetheart!

Dirty duplex not a house.

The space is very cute and nice, but it is not a house as listed and it was very dirty. I hate to just list the negative, like a said the space itself was very cute and functional. Just list it as a duplex and clean it. There is some instructions on the tv stand for occupant to remove shoes to keep floor clean, but my wife and I would walk around barefoot after a shower and in just a few minutes the bottoms of our feet were black from dirt. There was leftover food left in the freezer, the fridge had spilled liquid, the drawers would not open until my wife cleaned them.and dead bugs in the cabinets. The tub would not seal due to some sort of what appears to be a chemical or paint but it wont let the drain seal. All this can be taken care of with a good cleaning. Its not really the owner problem, but its expected IF it was listed as a duplex, the neighbors dog will bark from 4am until around 7 and it comes right through the dividing wall.

Perfect home away from home

This was our second stay here and we were once again extremely satisfied with the accommodations.Centrally located to restaurants, a nearby park and for the most part, a nice quiet neighborhood. Everything you're going to need is included with a fully furnished kitchen, living room, bedrooms and outside patio. Our only negative comments would be that there's no end table in the living room to put your drink or snack while watching TV and all of the chairs are high back. But that's it! We found the neighborhood to be extremely quiet with the exception of barking dogs on either side of the duplex. But that was only once. The host was extremely helpful and generous and we would definitely stay here again. On

A visit to Grandpa

This was our second experience staying at this location. We had 5 adults, the 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms worked out well. Kitchen is well stocked, as we did occasionally fix meals. So nice to have salt, pepper, oil, coffee, tea, etc. The furnishings, TV’s, decor, and layout was festive and very comfortable. Our host answered our questions when they came up quickly and effectively. Beds were comfortable, linens and towels were good quality, although it would be nice to have a few more pillows and cases for the beds. There is a lovely outdoor space to gather in, we did not find outdoor chairs, but we didn’t ask if any were available. Coming down from up north we enjoy the sun and being outside as much as possible. Loved our coffee time in the morning. Another suggestion would be to have side tables next to the couch or a coffee table? All in all the whole visit was amazing. We will be returning and will try to stay here again. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed the coziness of the property, the neighborhood and closeness to the places we wanted see. Two things that did’t help to give the place “5” was no iron or ironing board and the sink in the small bathroom had low pressure, heartily any water came out of it. We could have call the property manager about the sink but were not worried about it. We would stay there again.

Wonderful house

This property was very nice and centrally located. We were able to go to the beach, Boca Chica and catch a concert. The price was affordable and the property manager was always available to answer questions.

Central location for birding hot spots

Quiet & safe area with plenty of birding hotspots near by! Comfortable for a group of 3-4. 3 good sized bedrooms. Neighbor had very bright light that made it a little hard to sleep in the middle bedroom ( there are no blackout shades in the room). Worked well for our group. J.T.

Great Location for Texas Birding

On Spring break from Seattle, we took a birding trip to S TX and couldn't have stayed in a more perfect location. We found everything we needed in Hildalgo County within a half hr of the house. Located in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood, the 5 of us enjoyed the birding and the house. Small issues, since we ate most meals in, were a few missing kitchen items and a corner end table to hold drinks while watching TV at night. Lacking the hosts e-mail/phone number, we weren't able to notify her that the fire alarm battery was beeping, so we had to remove it for our stay. But the space and location were great--and the excellent AC welcome after hot days at Saanta Anna, Estero Llano, etc.

Won't Book Again

We arrived to it being a duplex (pictures of outside did not show this or accurately depict structure or location). We had trouble getting in due incomplete access instructions (we had to call host and then access was given), we killed a few roaches on our short stay, host controlled the a/c temp/it kept reversing to 77 degrees (note this is south Texas - hot and humid), dealt with a water leak in the kitchen - came back to kitchen flooded (cleaned it up, put out water collectors and called host). Housekeeper was sent to check on water leak, fortunately we were leaving the next morning. Sent host a message when we left, giving her an update and got safe travels.

Central location, Quiet neighborhood

This duplex was indeed a wonderful find for our week long stay. Centrally located in McAllen within just a few miles of local restaurants and attractions. Once inside, the chatter from the rest of the planet disappeared and the quiet was exactly what we were looking for. Our first few nights we were awakened by barking dogs next door. But, after contacting Kristell, that noise problem was immediately resolved. Some appliances and furnishings are old and outdated but everything worked. It was nice having 2 bathrooms. Outside there was a patio with furniture. There was a fair amount of noise from a trucking company behind the privacy fence. But, it still was relaxing and allowed for a lot of bird chatter and respite sitting in the private shaded outdoors. Overall a very positive 5/5 star experience and whenever we're back in this area, we'll plan to book here again.
