Good morning Janet and Tom, I remain astounded by your words. Your stay lasted a good 14 days in which we talked to each other a lot and many of the things written down were never said to me. Let us start with your reservation we changed the dates 3 times because you were not clear what day you would arrive and what day you would leave, you tell me you would arrive very early in the morning and I out of kindness to you without any request from you I closed the date before your arrival to allow you to settle in immediately upon your arrival given the long trip, as my personal courtesy that I was pleased to do to you. Weeks before your arrival we spoke via chat and email because you asked me for suggestions on things to do in Rome and also excursions out of town and I as a former travel agent loved to give you a thousand directions and suggestions. Upon arrival I wait for you and help you with your bags I show you the house, so far so good. We start emailing each other by phone several times a day to call cabs you wanted within minutes under the house, booking restaurants, you couldn't use the washing machine and after explanations from me and Davide ( my trusted person whom I made available to you for the few hours a day when I would be unable to be on call given your countless requests), Davide was supposed to come to you the next morning to help you and instead you did not respond to our messages for 3 days without letting us know whether you had succeeded or not, which is not a good thing because we were ready to help you in every way and you left us on stand by without news to reappear only when you had other requests for cabs, etc. The apartment is well described in the ad and the photos show the internal staircase present and mentioned, the apartment being spread over two floors, in the description it is highlighted that the house is located in a period building on the second floor and there is no elevator, I do not recommend staying in the ad to people with walking problems and families with small children for obvious reasons, so I have to think that you either did not read the ad or took it lightly that doing a floor of stairs for you would be too strenuous, but I am absolutely clear in describing the house and not recommending it to guests with special needs, I would never want my guests not to be comfortable, and unfortunately I think that you not having evaluated and read the ad chose my house which however was not suitable for your needs. In the previous days I sent you information about the house and in the house they were listed again, for anything that was not explained we were on call me and Davide 24 hours a day, the coffee machine is a nespresso with only 2 buttons with the design of espresso or long coffee on it, the cups are placed close, no one ever found any difficulty and in case you could call us as the other times. For the garbage obvious that I have to give indications on sorting, in Italy in each city the rules are different and I can't leave my guests in trouble. You pointed out to me some stains in the corridor of the building and I told you that I would have pointed it out to the condominium and so I did a few days ago, but I unfortunately am not the owner of the building, I rent the house where you stayed that had no problem, for me all the considerations that are told to me by the guests are important to improve in fact I informed all the owners of the various apartments to check the corridor. While you were on vacation did you check the rate of the house for the periods after your stay again just ask and I would have explained that from November in Rome starts the low season while September, October, spring and holidays are very high season it follows that the rates are different but these are basic market rules common all over the world. The check-out was suddenly anticipated by you so I booked a cab for you without being able to be there but to bring down the luggage would have been just my kindness not possible because you did not give me a way, I asked you how you were and if everything was okay but I received silence. I am bitter because my ad highlights all the features of the house precisely because not all houses are suitable for all guests and certainly mine was not suitable for you and this made the stay difficult for you and for us, reading the ad and looking at the photos everything could have been avoided, I am sorry it turned out this way and having found out after the fact without being able to talk to you, for the next vacation I would definitely recommend you to choose a hotel with reception on site even if my assistance was on par indeed I did well beyond my duty because I love my work and my guests. It was only fair to make everything clear for the effort I put in and for my future guests
