This review is really about 2 extremes. After checking in, my family went to the house to immediately discover two important things: 1) The upstairs and the downstairs are not linked inside of the house. To go from the primary bedroom (downstairs) to the living room and kitchen (upstairs) you must walk outside and lock the door behind you. 2) There's no heat downstairs. There is a fireplace, but the downstairs portion lacks central heat. We were traveling with an 18 month old, so both of these factors were non-starters for us... Here's where the good comes in. The management company handled the issue exactly how it should have been addressed. I called them, explained the situation, and they gave me 3 options on how to move forward -- 1) Stay at the house we had booked and figure out a source of heat. 2) Switch to another house they owned for the same price. 3) Get a total refund, and we could go try to find lodging elsewhere. The woman I worked with at the management co could not have been nicer about the whole thing, and I got the sense that people perhaps frequently have issues with this unit. We elected to switch to another house, and had a great trip. Unless you're in a very specific circumstances (I.E. maybe 2 couples traveling and you want your own space), I would avoid this house. It's not a good set up for families, and given how cold Cambria is, a house not having central heat is not okay. Skip this place, but do book somewhere else with Scenic Coast Management.
