Keistle Cottage is a recently built one bedroom property located within a small crofting township in Glen Haultin. Occupying an elevated position, guests can enjoy spectacular views over Skye’s rolling hills, lochs, and the rugged Cuillin mountains on a clear day. Finished to an exceptionally high standard, every effort has been made to offer guests a comfortable stay through the provision of the highest quality furnishings and fixtures throughout.
The design of the property ensures privacy for guests; and a sense of seclusion so guests can relax, switch off and enjoy the nature that surrounds them. The lounge area has large patio windows and a wooden decking area outside, from which the outstanding views can be enjoyed. Keistle Cottage is set on a working croft where the owners keep almost 300 Blackface and Cheviot sheep. The owners have lived there all their lives and enjoy welcoming their guests and enabling them to share the beauty and tranquillity that their wee corner of Skye has to offer.
Keistle itself is a small, traditional crofting community, located in Glen Haultin - a beautiful glen that leads out to the back of the famous Old Man of Storr. There are lots of lovely walks surrounding the property and, for the more adventurous, it is ideally situated for exploring the Trotternish Ridge - a 27km walk along one of Scotland’s most spectacular ridge traverses, with spectacular views throughout. Wildlife is in abundance - with buzzards, sea eagles, hares and rabbits regularly sited nearby (sometimes right outside the window!) Keistle seems peacefully remote but is only a ten-minute drive from the Isle of Skye’s main town, Portree. The Isle of Skye itself is a treasure trove full of excellent shopping, places to dine out, and a countless list of things to see and do. All while enjoying some of Scotland’s most beautiful scenery, throughout the Island. Keistle Cottage promises to deliver the perfect base, for a memorable break, on the best of Isles.
