Within stumbling distance and your neighbour is a fantastic riverside country pub, serving some fine ales and ciders, the food is well regarded by locals too, great for those days you don’t feel like cooking! Within a short drive is Tewkesbury, a buzzing little market town on the river, with a great selection of Coffee shops, restaurants, and antique shops. In the other direction is Gloucester, Harry Potter fanatics will be pleased to know they can walk in the footsteps of the Wizards and muggles Harry Potter filmed at the magnificent cathedral. Also, home to a dockside shopping outlet too for some discount designer clobber.

Obviously, no romantic gaunt to Gloucestershire, would be complete without a visit to the regency town of Cheltenham, glittered with its fancy cocktail bars, Michelin starred restaurants, shopping boutique and beauty salons are dotted along the regency promenades of Cheltenham Spa. Enjoy art galleries, concert halls, theatres, and world-renowned festivals, with highlight of the year being the Cheltenham Gold Cup, the blue riband event of the national hunt calendar. Riverview Lodge is the perfect race week residency as Cheltenham is easily reached by car within 15 minutes. A little further afield is the wider Cotswolds, all still within a 40-minute drive. Be sure to visit the famous chocolate box villages with their charming honey hued houses. Bourton-on-the-water, Chipping Campden, Cirencester, Stow-on-the-Wold are all easily reached.
