I chose Koukaki because itâs one of the most authentic and charming neighborhoods in Athens. Nestled just below the Acropolis, the area has a unique mix of local life, history, and creativity. The streets are lined with neoclassical buildings, cozy cafes, and family-run tavernas, giving it a warm and welcoming vibe.
What I enjoy most is how walkable everything is, I can start my day with coffee at a local café, stroll through the pedestrian Dionysiou Areopagitou street, visit the Acropolis Museum, and end the day with dinner under the stars. Despite being in the heart of the city, it feels peaceful and safe.
Living here feels like being part of a small village inside the capital. Itâs a place where neighbors say hello, art meets history, and every corner has a story.
