Fantastic weekend

We had a lovely weekend at this property celebrating a birthday milestone! The space is amazing. Perfect for celebrating an occasion with family and friends. We hired a private chef on one of the nights and had a cocktail class on the other. The layout (large round table and bar) made these 2 events very special. The host Jerry was on hand to answer any queries we had prior to staying and was in touch with me as soon as I got home to check everything was okay. I would recommend reading through the welcome notes on the app as this offers lots of advice on all appliances in the house; heating; fans etc. I would recommend this house to friends and family.

Fabulous building, however poor maintenance and support

This property had the potential to provide a memorable experience, sadly this was spoilt by a number of critical factors most concerning that the description of the property clearly stated there were 8 bedrooms and even had schematics of each room. However on arrival there were only 7 . The toilet in the main bedroom was locked and had an out of order notice ! The kitchen lacked some very basic equipment . The sink was blocked And finally no one appears to care and communicate

Sandra your a liar and the property is not marketed as 8 bedrooms but 7 We used to have 8 bedrooms but decided to convert the 8th bedroom into an arcade games rooms for our guests Nice try to get money back / free Holiday but unfortunately our reviews speak for themselves so although im upset and hurt by your lies i will not bow to blackmail Sandra and please dont come to stay by us again and for other hosts i would recomment to avoid hosting Sandra at all costs

Fantastic property

We had a wonderful stay here, the property was clean and spacious. Some lovely small touches including toiletries per person and a welcome drink and some snacks. The owner really went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. Would recommend to anyone looking to book for a large group.

Fab place to stay with friends

We stayed here as a group of 17 for my daughters hen weekend - highly recommend - very clean and great layout. Realistically, one of the ‘doubles’ is a very small double - just to be aware. Would visit again for similar event.

Truly perfect!

This property is like nothing else. We wanted somewhere to celebrate a group of milestone birthdays this year so started our search. Once we saw the pictures of this one there was nothing else that could beat it! It blows you away in real life and Jerry from day one has been amazing with communication and little touches upon our arrival at the property that made the stay very special. Everything is thought of and nothing is a problem! The village is beautiful too and this property is very central. We had an absolute ball and is was a truly perfect weekend and this property was a key part of that! Thank you Jerry and look forward to using this or one of your other spectacular properties again!

Fantastic party house!

We stayed here for a hen party and it was fantastic! The house is huge and fantastic for photos. Communication was great from the moment we booked, and when Jerry was away he put us in the touch with the housekeeping who were also very attentive. The number of bedrooms changed after we booked (for safer fire escape) and we weren't able to work the sound system, but Jerry was in touch about both so can't fault the service we received. Would definitely recommend!

A Fabulous setting and pleasurable stay.

The property has been sympathetically and professionally restored, with an addition of the wow factor!! Jerry was a great host and we would recommend him as an excellent Host to any of his properties.

Beautiful venue in the heart of Cockermouth

First off, Jerry could not have been more helpful in the entire process of renting this property. Always quick to respond to any queries we had and provided a very helpful check-in document for all the amenities in the house. The main hall/dining area as you head up from the front entrance is genuinely breathtaking as it comes into view from the stairs. Photos don't do it justice. All the rooms were immaculate with fresh sheets and the beds were extremely comfortable throughout. Plenty of shower/toilet facilities throughout even for a large group and they were well stocked. Travel toothbrushes and paste for the friends who forgot theirs (there were many) was a nice touch. Hot tub and sauna in the basement were also great, Jerry's above mentioned document explained how to use them with ease too. As for Cockermouth itself, a truly lovely wee town with plenty to do in and around it. If you are a large party, I'd recommend booking any required taxis well in advance however - Cockermouth Cabs were very useful to us. Seth's Bar was fantastic for a wide cocktail selection, Aspava in the heart of town for dinner and The Black Bull for those parties who want to continue into the early morning hours. Overall, cannot praise the property and Jerry enough. Certainly hope to be back at some point in the future!
