The remains of the 14th century Sheriff Hutton Castle keeps a watchful eye over the village; the castle was one of Richard IIIâs favourite castles, you can even see it from the rear main bedroom! There is a bus stop adjacent to the property with buses to York, Malton, and Castle Howard.
A short drive brings you to Castle Howard, famous as the home of Brideshead Revisited. With a year-round programme of events a visit here is a must. This area is just perfect for those who enjoy walking and cycling with miles of lanes, public footpaths, and bridleways to explore. York golf course is also a 5-minute drive away. A little further afield is the iconic City of York, home to a plethora of world-renowned visitor attractions.
